in the early 70's that trip from Lyon's Camp over the rocks and onto Piedra Blanca and Twin Forks was glorious. The creek was heavily forested and above Twin Forks it was so loaded with native rainbows you hardly needed to pack in food. Now 50 years later I can see and I hear that fires and climate change have wiped out most of the cover needed for a good trout fishery. :-(

@Chris Beard your description sounds ideal but sadly Southern California backcountry is becoming even hotter and arid with each passing year.. I'm doing my part in 'leaving no trace' and documenting the inevitably soon-to-be-changed-landscape.. thanks for sharing and looking 🤙🏽
