Two problems with that. One is 99.9% of us don't have the tool and most people tie it by hand. Two, there is no hook or lure tied on to it. You need to make another video showing by hand and with actual lure or hook.

The Clinch Knot tool was initially designed to help my dad tie fishing knots. He has arthritis in his hands and difficulty seeing the monofilament. This tool allows him to continue fishing. There are many ways to use it, and I am using it more and more. I published another short video titled Improving the Improved Clinch Knot. You can check it out here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/o162pGOhl8-Bgacsi=D6khP4jAKaXfEu_m This video showcases a new, more efficient way to tie the Improved clinch knot with the tool.

My 13 year old dog is looking at me with eyes that say "I am coming if you are going" . Man that looks amazing . If you can go back there maybe camp by the lakes and fish the crap out of everything and if there's a rule or edict that says you can't just do it anyway and be smart about it . All you are doing is fishing and being respectful of your surroundings and making it easier on yourself going back and forth from camp where you have more opportunities to injure yourself , I have done it before and never regretted it .
@GoFishingOften13 күн бұрын
I hope you and your old dog get to go on some adventures soon. If I ever go back, I will definitely consider camping by the lakes. The days are short up there. Thank you for your comment and for checking out the video. I really appreciate it.

Many thanks - this took a truly extraordinary effort on your part to bring this video to your viewers. I’ve always appreciated the research you invest in your pursuits. This one was especially intriguing - the scope of fish swapping states engaged in during the early years of the twentieth century (some still goes on today - I question its value), plus the link to the Manzanar Camp. I know I’m going to have to track down that documentary. Again, my thanks.

I found your video very educational. I had no idea there was a population of Colorado River Cutthroat Trout in the high mountains of California. Glad they’re hard to get to. My one suggestion is that most people tune in to watch fishing videos hoping to leave politics behind.

What a challenge to get back to thoae lakes. That is one hard pass to do. It really puts into perspective what the people of Manzanar were willing to go through to get those fish.
@GoFishingOften16 күн бұрын
It is a rough pass. I upgraded a lot of my backpacking gear before this trip. My wife kept asking, "Why do you need all this fancy stuff? The people from Manzanar would hike up there for a week with nothing but the clothes on their backs and a fishing rod." My response: They were tougher than I am.

Early in my mountaineering career my climbing partner and I climbed that same trail in the Mt. Williamson basin to summit the mountain and climb along the ridge-line south toward Whitney. It was our first time camping above treeline and at altitude. On that trip anyway fishing was the furthest thing from our minds. Went back years later to fish those lakes; getting there is a challenge all in its own. Nice job; beautiful video production. Thanks!

Great video and idea! You can also use that fly line backing as a "level line". That's my preferred line type. It's an in-between option for standard level line and that pvc option. A little heavier than level line, but not saggy like pvc can be. I like it when I use a setup like a hopper/dropper.
