It’s like a trig word problem that came to life. Good thing there aren’t any curves in the goal’s frame, or this guy would have to take derivative LOL.

This guy really pulled out the Pythagorean Theorum to build a lacrosse goal 🤦‍♂️ Lmao.

Love this so much. Perfect to get my daughter involved in making this since she's just been learning angles in her 5th grad math and loves playing goalie for her lacrosse team. Thank you for making this video!

Fill the bottom pipes with sand. That may stop it from tipping.

i did this, it does not hold up for shooting corners, if u hit the crossbar it just busts.

There is also just a theorem where the hypotenuse in a 45, 45, 90 is rad 2 times the equal sides.

MY FATHER AND I BUILT THIS IN 1990!!! It was my father's idea and I helped him out----but here is the kicker---I COULD ACTUALLY DISASSEMBLE THE DANG THING THROW IT IN A HOME MADE SACK...walk out into a field and put it together. It was truly an out of this world, space age DO IT YOURSELF/FATHER & DAD project. A couple of observations about this design. FIRST IT IS FANTASTIC AND QUICK but the cinder block is bit of a problem. When people shoot on this goal the posts will flex backwards pretty hard and eventually give out; also the inability to absorb the shots and pegged in the back with the weight will only make it less forgiving. My father''s design accounted for this providing stability and structural integrity, preventing it from bending one way or the other; that is we actually extended a pipe withe ease which ran from the center of the cross bar down to the back end. While this did appear a bit odd it nonetheless did the job and it worked like a champ. My friends were astonished by it. Today the athletic stores have some very good alternatives, perhaps a bit pricier but in the end better.

okay, I need some clarification because I'm not a very good mathematician. On the back "V" part the length would be 4'3' on both sides? someone please help me.

+Calvin Gordon $50 for net + $30 for zip ties and pvc pipes. The $20 will make up for you not being a good mathematician. Who knows, maybe you have become better at math to the point where you car figure out that the combined angles of a triangle will equal 180°. And yes, each side of the "V" support is 4'3".

I made my own lacrosse goal but I made a 5x5 instead since the PVC sections are 10 feet long each. My goal looks like 2 track hurdles basically instead of a v on the bottom.
