I love the juxtaposition to mix dressier pieces with casual especially since I am now retired. Shopping your closet is very helpful if you have classic pieces and interesting bags and shoes. Always very helpful and promoting individuality! Thank you!

Thank you Silvana for this helpful video! I love the clear way you explained how to balance your styles. I’m going to practice with my own wardrobe. I especially love vintage, but find it can start to look like a costume and the outfit looses a chic modernness. I’m starting to realize you can have both injections in an outfit with the right styling. Your videos are so intelligent and clear! I’m inspired by your authentic and original style ! Aw so happy to found it informative! Vintage items have to be very well inserted otherwise yes they can drag the outfit down, but practice make it perfect, right? Re. paining it is a Matisse replica. I am a big fan :)

Si tired to elevating French women to a pedestal. I’ve seen well dressed women in New York, London, as I have in Paris, as well as the opposite. Another thought provoking video! Yes, French women have great style and we can learn a thing or two from them wrt effortless style. I'm however with you on having a more polished make up look, especially now in my 60's where a wash of colour on the eyes, cheeks and lips goes a long way and putting a little more effort into hair care. If I was to only air dry my hair, I would look like a scare crow for sure!😂

More great tips. I got a great compliment at airport yesterday - a woman started speaking to me in French (not one of my languages). Her daughter translated - she thought I was French because of my chapeau! I was wearing white leather sneakers, black boot cut pants & a navy jersey blazer - very basic, I'd thought. But the felt hat with its brooch pin must've taken it up a notch. 😊

I’m not petite at 5’6”, but I now realize I have a long torso and short legs…I’m trying to update my look with new purchases and every “mistake” you outline here, I’ve been guilty of, thinking I can wear any style and that’s exactly why I was unhappy with my look….especially with cropped pants and loafers….both are styles I previously never wore.

@ Yes, I have lost four dress sizes and am experimenting with styles I never considered like separates…..I only wore dresses or suits. The separates thing is so fun, but at 5’6” US size 8 and a busty hourglass shape, I was at a loss as to how to style myself other than monochromatic top and bottom….now I have learned that fitted and high-waisted is the way to go….thank you!

Ladies most of this advice can be ignored . Wear what makes you happy. I just love the fashion victim look said nobody ever. Large jewellery, bold prints, skinny jeans … wear whatever the hell makes you feel good and never give a thought to what anyone else thinks ❤☺️xxx

Great dressing! Love the way you transitioned for the seasons! It’s warm here, sometimes even thru the end of the year. Extended wear is very possible! I’ve noticed that adding a little brown always gives off a fall/ winter mood! So easy, yet so chic! Thank you! ❤
