The day after the Apollo 11 landing was a fine blue sky in Wellington, NZ. Before school I stood by the large window and gazed up at the Moon in the western sky and in the background this was playing on the radio.

Ole Rivers was a hard working black man, but there was a lot of hard working white men during this time plowing with mules; my father and oldest brother did this work, before the tractor. Racism is bullshit used by cowards who use it as a weapon to get their way!!!

My only disappointment was not seeing Florence Henderson dancing with Dean Martin. Oh and Elizabeth Montgomery as Samantha on Bewitched.

The song is very touching to my heart. I get emotional every time I've heard it. It's the song's music, arrangement, melody, meaning and the delivery by Coven that make it a "special classic". I saw the the movie "Billy Jack" when it was originally released in 1971. I 've seen it over and over again just to hear the theme song. If you haven't already, you should see all the Billy Jack movies: " Born Losers" and "The Trial Of Billy Jack" (sequel to Billy Jack). Of course no better theme song than "One Tin Soldier".....Peace on earth, is all I sayyyyyyyyyyyyy.
