Hello, Megane. I have never had fondue or anything like Mont d'Or Napiot, but it's just because I haven't had the opportunity to do so. It's definitely on my list to try. Have you prepared chicken in the air fryer? My daughter and I purchased some beautiful chicken thighs at the farmers market last weekend, seasoned them with a spice mix, and then air fried them. They were so crispy, juicy, and flavorful. I was roasting some carrots and squash in my oven, so I needed an alternative way to cook the chicken. I think that will be how I make them going forward. Thanks for sharing. I'm inspired by other home cooks like you. As a mother, I have to cook nearly every day, and I need inspiration! :)

It’s so great to hear you’re excited to try fondue and Mont d'Or Napiot - they’re both amazing, especially if you love melted cheese! 😊 I actually have reheated a small rotisserie chicken in the air fryer, and it was perfect for keeping it crispy and juicy. I’m really happy to be able to share recipes and hopefully inspire others to try new things in the kitchen. Cooking every day as a mom must definitely be challenging, wishing you and your daughter lots of fun cooking - hope you both enjoy trying out new recipes together! 😊

Bon soir, Megane! Your dinner plate with the polenta looked very tasty. I love polenta, but my daughter does not, so we eat it infrequently. The leaves on those trees were gorgeous. Most of the leaves have fallen here, and everything looks bare and wintry. Do you get much snow where you live? We only get a few storms each year, and the snow usually melts in a day or two.

Thank you so much, you have also many ways of doing a polenta but it’s better to not eat it if you are dieting because it’s really high in carbs (but so good) and can also pan fry the polenta and make them in sticks. The leaves have fallen for a long time now so it also looks wintry. Yes we do have snow around my village but there is more where my parents live as it is known as “the cold lands” 10 min from my home, depending on the weather we can have up to 20-50cm of snow. And the weather can be around to -10°C (for the coldest 14°F) but generally, it's between 0°C to 10°C (32-50°F) in December and January.

@@meganeshares The climate of your region in France sounds very similar to southwest Idaho where I am. We have a hot summer and a mild winter. I love polenta with meatballs or chicken cacciatore. Tomorrow is our Thanksgiving, and we'll be having the traditional turkey dinner with all the sides. Not a lowcarb day at all!

Wow! I had never seen how mushrooms are foraged like that. I can't believe how many were on the ground. We were just at the farmers market in downtown Boise this morning, and there is a vendor there with mushrooms. They are so interesting, but I don't know what to do with the unique varieties. I use the white button mushrooms and the Baby Portobello mushrooms when I cook, and that's about all the experience I have with them. I saw chestnuts at the grocery store last week, but I can't say I've ever had one. Maybe I'll get a few this week and air fry them like you did. Yeah we can find mushrooms in the forest but there are also farm mushrooms, easier and quicker to find them ahah but depending on the species it can be very expensive You can cook them simply with butter, garlic, and parsley, it’s really easy to do it as a side dish. Or in an omelet, it's really good also 😊 I love eating chestnuts but it's such a pain to open them 😩 Have also a good weekend Joannah! Take care and thank you so much for sharing it with me 🥰

I love French Onion Soup, but I have not made it myself. I don't know if I can get my 13 year old daughter to eat it, so I might have to wait until her palate is more mature. I think it tastes sweet after the onions have been cooked down like that.

I love kombucha! I hope yours turns out well. I thought about making it at home, but the process seemed to take a long time. Your ma pa tofu recipe looked delicious! Do you cook from recipes, or do you cook by intuition? I have to follow a recipe, but my mother just seems to know what to add and when. Your neighborhood looks so pretty. It’s easier in reality, I’m glad that I bought this kombucha kit as they provide all the necessities and step-by-step instructions. Yes, it can be a little long between 7-14 days for the first fermentation and the second fermentation is quicker less than a week usually. It turned out well it was sweet but had no bubbles. I usually cook from recipes and after by intuition ☺️ The rabbits come from the neighbor next to my parent's house, they don't stay in their enclosure Thank you so much and have a lovely weekend too! Such a pretty chateau! When I visited France, part of the time I was with my family in the Loire Valley, and there are many beautiful chateaus there. We visited at least three of them as I remember. I also remember having lunch in a cave there after touring one of the chateaus. I'm glad you had a nice time on the weekend, and that you could decompress from your busy work week. @@meganeshares Yes, we went to Chenonceau! And also Villandry and Angers (we were staying at a home in Angers). This was about 20 years ago. I now have a 13 YO daughter, and I would love to take her to France one day. Do you watch Entertaining with Beth here on YT? She is American, but her husband is French. They just moved back to France from Los Angeles, and she's sharing about their life in France with her weekly videos. I am happy to watch whatever you decide to share from cooking, to shopping in the markets, to traveling away from home, it's all interesting to me. Bonsoir.

I wish we could get the potatoes with duck fat here. I'm sure they are so flavorful. The tomato pie looks amazing, too. I made something similar recently, but the tomatoes had a lot of moisture in them, and it was so watery after cooking. I will have to try again while the tomatoes are still in season. Hi Jo! Yesss it’s was so good 😊 The tomato pie is a classic in France but yeah sometimes the tomatoes can be watery, maybe there are some varieties better to use in a pie like the potatoes depending on what you cook 🤔 I was just lucky here. Have a good weekend too! 🫶🏻
