So there's a studio version of this song from an album called "The Touch of Leonard Nimoy," but I don't think it works very well. On that album, what was meant as an homage to Renaissance madrigals is _way_ overproduced, with kitschy 1960s orchestration and backup vocals. What's worse, Nimoy's voice, while pleasant enough, isn't sufficiently trained to keep fully in time or in tune to the polished level of the musicians around it and it's both obvious and irritating. Whereas here, in the context of this episode's story and our built-up investment in these characters, these aspects of Nimoy's performance add a great deal to this scene, in which characters we care about are being humiliated by a commune of high-intellect sociopaths. What are on the album glaring weaknesses here become subtle strengths. The scene is, as kitcat7538 says, hauntingly beautiful.
