I've seen Virginia Bruce in movies made before and after this, and she still comes across as a COLD personality. And that voice of hers still chills the listener, just as Kathryn Grayson's voice did.

She is playing a ruthless man-eater, in competition with Eleanor Powell for Jimmy. No contest, really... Ellie was so unaffectedly nice that the audience would have rioted if Virginia snared poor naive Jimmy.
