Oh my goodness! Y’all had a great time! I especially enjoyed S.A. Cosby’s conversation. He comes across as a “Gentle Giant”. He has some life stories to tell. After listening to him, he may be one of my new favorite authors and I haven’t even read any of his books yet 😂 He would definitely be a great bookclub guest. I just started following him on IG. Thanks for taking us along 🤗

Glad you enjoyed it! Yes he would make a great guest for sure. Who knows maybe we could read his new book when it comes out and then invite him to the club.

although i'am indonesian i read this in english translation. i reckon they he write would be much funnier when i read in indonesia because cultural context and humor etc. i am now on page 350 almost done reading it. it's great book that's make you annoyed and somtimes how eka write is also distrubing. but this book make me have the courage to became little bit not sane and dare to the things i alwasy dreadfull of.

Add that to my own experience of the book; Powerful 🍸🍹 cocktail Combo. My personal opinion of the book was despite it's beautiful cover, cool concept and definitely pertinent themes, was it was too bland "Conversationny".so it failed in it's Pacing in my view. I plan my books on the 15th of the previous month with all the bookclubs and readalongs, I need to make sure I have the book or can get it used or at library. I will total the page count for all books and divide by 28 days. A lot of work and math but this has worked for me to ensure I can finish all the books for the month. I also read everyday and longer on weekends. Rarely move from my home on Sunday. Also read during lunch at work. I've read since childhood and my reading speed is definitely faster. Also listen to mainly Thrillers on audio. Almost always have a physical book. Great tips Didi!!!

I agree with all of that. Reading more is Avery intentional act and reading everyday gets you to reading more books quicker.

Thanks for the tips! I watched a similar video awhile back from @asmray and one of the tips they gave that I found helpful was to pick different kinds of books for different times of day. Like, maybe you’re more able to read literary fiction or dense nonfiction in the morning and need something “easier” just before bed. I thought that was an interesting piece to consider too…

Thank you for this video and for the suggestions, some of which I have read and reviewed on Goodreads. "The Blacker the Berry," and "A Christmas Carol," I have reviewed on Goodreads. I watched the movie "Our Souls at Night." HBO had a series that never made to it air "Lewis and Clark" starring Casey Affleck and Mattis Schoenarts in the leads. The York books would be great tie-ins. Great list featuring Jamaica Kincaid and others.
