It's actually pretty easy to duck/squat with it under a few trees, but if you're not on an open or well maintained trail it's still best to just shoulder it and go

5’8” 150…with a shoe size of 8.5. So we are similar sized. I’m trying to dial in the seat positioning on the Zen 3 Medium. Where do you prefer to put the lock bolt for seat out of the 4 slots available?

The Chinese are now where the Russians were in the 1960's damming up every river they could including the Nile at Aswan. They are also where we were in the 1930's through 1960's, damming up every river we could. Seems each nation has to go through that phase and learn the hard lessons. The Aswan High damn is almost completely silted in, and is useless for anything anymore, as are the mud flats which were created by the silt. Nothing will grow there ever again. Someday the oil that China wants, and the hydro power which they hope to make to power it will no longer be needed, and because the Zambezi, like all other large African rivers will carry its silt burden to the damn, and dump it there, rendering both the damn dam, the river banks, and the river itself useless to anyone. A handful of short-sighted dictators got rich. The Chinese oligarchs got rich. And everyone else is poorer for it.

The pool seems plenty deep. There's a bit of a reconnect right as you land so the hit can be substantial though. The hard part with this drop is lining it up to split the hidden rebar spikes before dropping the 40'er... beautiful place though!

It's runs like this (showing the good and bad) by a great boater who can run the left to middle line on BCF, style the Cascades, or hit the micro eddy above Baby Falls and then switch freewheel off the drop that remind me that there's no reason to rush class V or the Narrows. Thanks for posting, Boyd.

That was a great run, thank you so very much for sharing this. Anyone who paddles the Narrows is a champ in my book. You who've raced it ... well ... you're a special kinda awesome.
