I remember the fire as an 8 year old. Me and my mates went in and saw burnt kit and the damaged trophy. I lived at 38 Nicholls Street behind the stand.

One of the very finest goals in an FA Cup Final, Houchen's diving header to make it 2-2. It is past Clemence before he can move.

Great tussle with Wolves for the old second division championship. City eventually came out champions with Wolves runners up.

The family moved to Coventry from a small town when I was 10. I had far too many bad experiences in Coventry and couldn't get out of there fast enough when I was old enough. I was only there for around 7 years or so. I still have family there and did visit quite regularly but I haven't been since about a year before the pandemic and never want to go back there again. All the good places I remember no longer exist. All the places me and my friends would hang out in. Like Spin-A-Disc records and Virgin Megastores gone. Forum bowling is now a church. Laser Quest arcade gone. Quasar gone. Hits and Misses gone. I won't dwell on the negative experiences I have had here, I've done that elsewhere on other videos. But my feelings for this city are mixed, mostly can't stand it but still have a tiny little soft spot for it.

Is it so hard to pronounce Ogrizovic? Keep hearing "Uhgrudgeavick" - Christ sake I'm amazed that Hodge just made no attempt to get near it once it went over his head. I get the unpredictable wind and all that but Jesus make an effort.

Should use black and white photos and not colourise them because the colours are not correct, the buses were not blue.

Yes that confused me. I thought I was losing my marbles because I don’t remember blue buses. Like you say, it is better to watch old film in black and white and not tamper with it.

Have you all seen Coventry today. You wouldn’t recognise the place. It’s run down and depressing. Heart breaking. My home city ruined by student accommodation being built everywhere. Is scruffy and dirty ! SAD !

"Can you really put a value on a goal like that". Well.. I had 2 quid on Eion Jess as first goalscorer at 14-1, got to the ground and he was on the bench..

I remember a fixture at Highfield Road between these two sides. It was different grounds but the result was the same. An interesting match because it was an exact reversal of the game I saw in the flesh that day. In this match Southampton should have pissed it. I thought Mick Channon was quality although he hasn't always impressed me in other games Anyway, the match I saw, Southampton scored early on, but the rest of the game was Coventry bombarding their penalty box and through a combination of bad luck and poor finishing, Ernie Machin, now sadly dead and forgotten slotted in a goal for the Sky Blues with time winding down .Those of us in the West End at Highfield Road danced our jig of delight. But that's football and I don't suppose too many people either care I remember now. Fair play to Southampton though I've always enjoyed playing against you as Coventry City fan. It's always a good game. I can't remember too many stalemates between the two teams

I was in the away end that day, I was nine years old. Coventry were a good, solid Premier League side back then. They've got a decent fanbase as well, I wouldn't mind seeing them back in the top flight. The Prem was a lot more fun back then, every team had at least one insanely good player. About a third of them now are just glorified Championship teams

I played against him at school and he was okay, nothing to special. But when I watched him play for his club against fully grown men, he was a super star. I could not comprehend that this was the same player. Jus looked so natural running at pace with the ball with incredible balance.

Good lord , The Bug and Black Bat . I was on an outward bounds course in Coventry in ‘89 and a few of us snuck off and went into town . One of the girls that was on the course ( who was from Cov ) took us to this pub and I remember getting pissed in there at lunch time . Had a bloody good afternoon with some of the folks off the course , I always remembered the name of this pub . It was in there , whilst getting sozzled , that I realised I really fancied the girl that was showing us around the town centre Got some really happy memories of that time .
