Been there and stopped producing videos. Still working on the best reason to fire my channel back up and finally worked out a motivation.

Lovely thank you. Am learning the digitakt and this helps a lot. I personally would sample playing once and let it ring out and then you have a better usable single hit that does not end abruptly but that’s a matter of taste I guess. Thanks a lot for the video!

I’m strongly considering buying one - I’ve been looking for years for something that can live loop and also run drum sequences - particularly a step sequencer, all in one. This seems to be the closest thing to it. One question I have though… can one of the outputs be dedicated to the internal metronome? I’m looking to use it with a band, and having a click that’s not in the main mix is a non negotiable.
@SURCOlive
@SURCOlive 12 күн бұрын
Sounds like it would be a good fit for what you need. Yes, you can set the metronome to go out of the 'cue' output in the settings. This keeps the regular outputs for other things. Thanks for watching!

That was a really nice and informative one! I'm currently using a T-1 and a Syntakt so there were lots of nuggets I could steal. After watching this I definitely think I'll upgrade to the Oxi One at some point, but I'll see how much I can get out of the T-1 first, for now.

Hi, great video again! Did you see the video by Oxi that showed you can get a piano roll view for each of the 8 tracks in a multi-track sequencer? Just press the second encoder when on the selected track. This totally blows my mind...kzbin.info/www/bejne/pKaqf3ttbJhoZ80

I hope you keep your KZbin channel healthy by NEVER accepting gear from companies. It will always bite you back at some point in your future. Thank you for your talks.

I have nothing against KZbin channels accepting gear, but it does get weird when they are paid to represent something they don't actually use without saying that it is a paid advertisement. People have to make a living, so no judgement. I just prefer to only show off things I use and genuinely like (most of which I buy myself or borrow). It makes the whole process a lot easier. Thanks so much for watching!

i am a total newbie in music ( a part from loving and listening of courze ) i have watched about 50 hours of instruments videos regardindg dawless sound making . i came to the conclusion that the : 1/ easy learning and having fun with inexpensive gear could be : arturia minibrute impact + arturia microfreak or 2/ a more or more demanding setup , and costly , but limitless , could be : either : syntakt + analog rythm or syntakt + anallog octotrak not sure about this choice in number 2

The ARmk2 does the scale lock when you push down the encoder and turn it like DT2
@SURCOlive
@SURCOlive Ай бұрын
I just checked on mine and it doesn't quantize to scale. it does 4 note jumps to more quickly get to notes (kind of like an active jump). I'm pretty sure I have the most recent update. Please double check and let me know. Thanks for watching!

Oh hey man. Gosh it's been awhile. I subbed in 2022 summer. Anyway I do have the a4 mk1. Its sequencing the pro 1 by Behringer and 2600. Its how I write basslines or riffs. I've used it since the update.

Excellent ! This video is great, so instructive, and so well explained : Thanks SURCO 🙏 I would be curious to hear you about this kind of comparison since Elektron Digitakt 2 update. Would the different enhancements it offers change the role it could play in your set up and your approach ? Would you consider to change your DT 1 to the 2, and if yes (or no), why, considering the way you that you write and produce music ? I’m just discovering Elektron’s machines and workflow with a DT 2 since a week, and still wondering how far it will bring me in producing my electro/trip hop sketches in the future. Your opinion about this new Elektron’s gear would be greatly appreciated 😉 Cheers from France 👍

You really have to have money to throw by the window to use the octatrakt as an effect mixer, to start with the FX are very mid, you could achive the same thing using Ableton + Push, you would gain better effect, save a ton of money and get a couple of tracks in the process. I don't get why musicians are complaining if they can spent that kind of money for something as mis as the octatrakt FX. What an idiot. Word of advice never listen to rich spoiled influencer. You will save money and make better use of your gear.

BTW, I just read the manual about the Bass Mono topic with the Golden Master. They say: Yet another important use of Mid/Side is to make the bass mono. It’s sort of an unwritten law that low-frequency instruments like bass guitar, kick drum, synth bass, should stay in the center of a stereo mix. Otherwise with the wide stereo image they may be self-canceled or simply lost in the speakers. On the GOLDEN MASTER Pedal the middle channel is being extracted and subtracted from the left and right channels of each band. The more you turn the knob CW from the center, the more side information is left in the channels. When the knob is turned CCW from the center, the stereo image will gradually become more mono.
