I often wonder if Jim’s nautical element in these songs was a “nod of deference or respect” to his father? Maybe even subconsciously? No matter there issues and differences I like to think they’ve both made Peace on the other side ? Great graphics and animations my man. Wonderful choices as per usual. Damn those pesky skeletons!!😂. Theres something about the vastness of the open sea that to this day still terrifies me-way more than the open sky lines. One thing struck me watching this video. The Doors gave their work “100%”. It’s why it has lasted. Never heard this version of Mystics before? A different mix? I really dig it. AB you are a utube pirate of the seas, rising and surfing the highest waves. Let’s get the party conversation started!! Eyes wide shut.🤫. I love a conspiracy. Who doesn’t? Just ask the C.I.A. The Rothschild’s themed Salvador Dali party. Is there more to see than the “all seeing eye”?? I struggle with Alice Cooper. Maybe it’s my issue not being able to see beyond the pantomime and the make up?? No issue with Bowie. Sounds like a young Syd Barrett here. I love the imagery and use of music as always AB. Constantly inventive, engaging and innovative. I loved this one. A little unnerving, like the times we live in, world lock downs, assassinations, new religions and government cover ups. The numb and dumb masses being led to their chosen slaughter. I will leave the last words to the visionary Jim Morrison and the artist of his video that is AB. “Strange Days have found us”. Indeed. 🙏❤️.x

It pains me to see all these KZbin commercials of young kids promoting how to make music without learning scales, without learning how to make chords, and without ever becoming a real musician. Because being a teacher of music was never one of my aspirations I only took one student during the 1980s and traded him bass lessons for being my roadie. He went on to perform and tour with very famous blues artists and is now a session player in Nashville. He couldn’t even keep a beat when he started and I made him go by a metronome. I honestly didn’t think he was gonna ever become a decent musician, but his desire combined with my musical knowledge created a professional musician. It took several years.

After the band's management team booked them in the NYC area with what had to be the full knowledge of the upcoming of 1967's Monterey Pop in California and the band's mistaken belief that nobody would attend Woodstock, Ray Manzarek said there was no way they would miss the chance to play at the Isle of Wight Festival. Around the time that the Isle of Wight Festival occured, the kangaroo court trial inDade County Florida was performed.

Given that the Isle of Wight was so close to the end of the Doors as a live outfit they were still (in my opinion) fantastic. They still “had it” in my opinion. The End was still apocalyptic and light my fire magnetic as per usual. Sure the New Orleans gig was a drag but I’m convinced that in a parallel universe they would have gotten their act together and performed just as good. These mass happenings were just incredible. There is a deep desire in people I believe to be connected, to exist in a communal and interactive space. Now it’s all predominantly done through the internet and the cage of four walls-kind of severed and cut off. You can’t beat being in the music moment, the PA blasting, the smell of herbal jazz cigarettes, hippie chicks and the sweat!! From Love and Peace to Power to the people. It was indeed an extraordinary journey the 1960’s, two complimentary sides to the same coin. It’s amazing to think of these “musical bills”, a who’s who (pun intended😂) of the great and good of music. There’s a wonderful interview of Jim Morrison backstage at this gig on utube just before (or maybe after) The Doors go onto the stage. This concert was in a way the end of an era. Like George Harrison said “All things must pass away”. The reverberations still manifest and the psychic energy is still alive. We still get to see and hear in glorious Technicolor “what was”. This was the golden age of rock on roll, where music changed the world, where people dropped out and tuned in, where the possibilities of sound dreams still gave hope to mankind. To those who can say “we were there” I have a healthy envy of…to those who wished they were there…I raise my hand up high in agreement. Great editing and finesse as per usual my LA man. Great one AB. 🙏❤️.x
