Hello, i have a tiny question about the trim. First of all thank you its a game changer to hover (i really dont like the auto hover the gazelle offers and prefer to do it on my own) My question is, when i fly with the sa342L loaded with hot3 (or smth like this) i cannot use my trim button, even tho its assign to only this action, it simply doesnt work. but it does work when i fly without weapon (for exemple in the "improve your piloting skills instant action"). Is there something im missing or am i just dumb and the problem comes from me? I hope anyone can help if you understood my problem :) Thx
@nazradu26 күн бұрын
Is that a hot start vs cold start comparison? Cause sometimes people forget to turn on the giros (upper left box) an then the auto hover won't work.
@HawkiHawks26 күн бұрын
@@nazradu ok that was the problem thanks. i did turn the giro on but without the button "MAGN BRK" so I guess it was this. thank you for your help

Good Flying. I need to get it in my mind that as you pitch cyclic forward you should raise collective and then when you pitch back you lower the collective. It's a lot of coordination that your muscles need to learn.

Spent a few hours rewiring my controls. Not mentioned, after "fly", hit escape and select take control. Everything works now except my bird never leaves the ground. Rotor RPM 100%, torque 130%, collective up to 100%. This has obvious bugs.
@danielgrafflin96894 ай бұрын
Just a fast question, what folder do you place this training mod in? OK, I got this put into my training folder. When I launch, I have no control input at all. The craft moves forward, then about the second pylon, does a radical yaw and roll to the right resulting in crash.

What I learned after intensive testing, is that to get the chopper in a autohover, and then not responding all too much anymore, so one can concentrate on copilot, is TO ADD ENOUGH DEADZONE. In rudder as well as throttle mainly. This because the trim is above auto hover mode. so input from rudder or collective, the chopper either turns or decends/rises. It would help if this chopper had a working trim. (Like in other choppers I mean) And a working keep altitude autopilot. I cannot understand that they do not change that inputs have authority over autopilot. OK, one has to be in certain limits to enable it. But once activated it should stay where it is. My experience is that adding deadzones to throttle and rudder, so there is fewer chance of input while in autopilot helped alot. Just saying. Also a very annoying bug is that one has lined up the chopper, one has activated everything. Shoot a missile or two. And DANG! The chopper goes haywire. OK, go back to pilot, stabilize it. But returning to copilot, whatever you do, (yes, you can still shoot when you direct the chopper yourself. ) But the slave to function is gone. What causes the chopper to go berserk beats me. this is such a noce module. But too many buttons do not work as they should (or do not work at all). And settings for pilot, copilot and gunner? Couldn't they make basics that copy/paste. And then a section "for this person only"? One literally looses 1 to 2 days only configuring and testing all settings. (Oh yes, I forgot to change this or that in the second one...) But, after lot of practice for couple of days, it is real joy to try to master and fly. So flying and weapons are done. Now let's go nav, radio, ... In a week or two we might even try a MP server if they're around for this one...

Thank you for this. I was getting really frustrated because even though I was a decent Huey pilot, I just could not get the hang of the auto pilot or challenging landings. Part of it was not understanding the microswitch logic and the benefits of binding the Microswitch ON key. By watching your video and downloading your Hind mission to practice, in just one hour I went from really struggling to being able to easily hover, transition from speed to a vertical landing, and master the yaw autopilot assist. I swear I had watched tons of other videos and nothing clicked until watching yours. I'm subscribed and looking forward to any other content you put out!

It seems you more or less fly the Gazelle exclusively on DCS, you’re a rare breed. I love the Gazelle, I’ve been flying it a lot recently. The ONLY gripe I have with her is the auto-slave function is extremely unreliable, which makes firing HOT-3’s problematic. It’d be great if you’d create a video covering this, along with the auto- hover function. I believe A LOT of DCS fans would find this extremely useful.

Hey Tom I have a video about the auto slave function. kzbin.info/www/bejne/d4rUmnpoZ9Z8ec0si=Wv4NeEoI6ZRX1gPz And I don't fly the Gazelle exclusively. I fly all the Choppers in DCS, but think Gazelle needs more attention ;)

@@wisco-ninja yeah they did rework the FM but no one would have bought anything from the with the old FM on the Gazelle, so I think they kind of had to do it. But I agree. @nazradu sadly yeah:(. I mean the Kiowa has George AI, so it's still something to be excited about! I've been looking at it, and considering it, but the 20mm, and ability to carry troops as well are slightly more appealing to me. plus it's got quirks, which I already have the Viggen, Harrier, M2000 and F1, and Fishbed, plus huey and mi28, would kinda complete my collection lmao.

Can't tell from the top of my head. Chucks guide says "ALV) mode will make it steer towards the point designated by the TV camera" and that indicates M model only.
