In all fairness season 2 narratively isn’t as good…as much as I hate to admit it. There is a lot of scenes that should have been added and much of the characters arcs are EXTREMELY rushed. Vi lacked a lot of the agency she had in season 1 and her arc after act 1 of season 2 needed a full episode. Not a little montage, that was a big missed opportunity. Sevika was just absent during the whole second half of season 2, never to be seen again. No one EVER finds about Jinx killing Silco (which should have been a plot line). The relationship between Mel and Jayce is non existent by the seasons end and we don’t even get to see Mel’s reaction to Jayce dying, Isha…as much as I like her in concept, wasn’t much of a character and only there to make Jinx feel bad when she dies. Caits dictator arc was completely skipped over, we hardly saw the ramifications of her decisions at all as well. And the new enforcer cops did hardly nothing, the Vander guy just…died. The green guy….I don’t even know his name. And Maddie could have been built up sooo much better, but her betrayal just kinda happens without anything to establish why. I still don’t know if she was always a spy, or became the one after Cait became the figure head. It only makes sense if she always was, but the show never made that clear at all. I can keep going, but I would be here all day. We need to have a balance of being able to enjoy things, but not just dismissing flaws like I mentioned. The more I think of season 1 the more I’m in awe of the quality, when I think about season 2 the more flaws I see. But I 100% agree with the guy being full of himself, I don’t agree with calling people unintelligent for liking Episode 7 that’s a bit too much. I still have major love for the series, and season 2 had incredible ideas but it 100% needed more episodes or a full on season 3 to flesh everything out.

What is this Ammio 🤡 guy talking about? Lmao 7:36 That's funny. I literally rewatched S1 Today, and it's in Episodes 7 & 8 show's that this was in fact common knowledge. And i was thinking the same points as you when I paused the video. But i find it really sad that some people who didn't watch the show, or remember it vaguely, might eat up this guys words and just blindly agree with him.

I hate this type of critique so much. Critiques should be about the themes of the story, and the actions that influence those themes. Some minor coincidence doesn't affect this, believing in coincidence is called the suspension of disbelief. We are able to overlook certain inconsistencies cos they really don't matter. Like, at all.
@mishan316847 минут бұрын
Critiques should be - where they relevant. If characters, pacing etc sucks. It deserves to be called out

The only problem season 1 of Arcane had was Caitlyn having a bit of plot armor in episode 4 Season 2 definitely had more flaws but the series overall was nearly perfect 9.5/10
@Itisoverthere-rwСағат бұрын
Having found myself defending the show from criticism and getting into debates about it for the last month, I have to say this. The season needed more time. Each episode needed at least 10 more minutes. Some needed much more, especially the finale. What we have rushes character development, misses connecting scenes, lamp shades a lot of information and avoids inconvenient dialogue. Arcane needs an extended season 2. It would take the writing from 6-7 to 9.
@patrickcarter28293 минут бұрын
Honestly, remove two plotlines (Mel & the Wild Rune) and rework Viktor's and you'll have more time to develop the remaining plotlines.
@michaelcarlson1208Сағат бұрын
Can't lie i commented on the other guys critiques, and overall agreed with a majority of it. But you also do a good breakdown. Don't know if that makes me a "flip-flopper." I think what is interesting to me about Arcane is either people love it and say it's good story telling or people saying it was bad, specifically season 2. I do think no matter what, media is subjective at the end of the day. But it is interesting to think about, can media have a general concensus of overall opinion, whether good or bad? I would say no because there's always outliers. I personally enjoyed Arcane season 2 up to episode 7. I personally didn't like the last two episodes, probably and mostly just last one as I found the ending distasteful for numerous reasons. But that's just my opinion. Regardless hope you two don't get into beef, seriously...but everything is open to critique, once posted to internet. Good video though. P.s. this also is good argument for the saying of "Show, don't tell." I personally do think Arcane does a lot of thought and I personally think thats a good thing. But it can be hard to balance and at what scale does it become to insulting? Some argue as you have said, use your brain and infer things and I do think that's valid. But I can see in some things, sometimes story needs more fleshing out and dialogue. But again some say that isn't good. It would be interesting to hear your takes on some of these bigger media thoughts such as subjectivity, general consensus and show don't tell, done well vs not done well. P.s.s what game are you playing in the background?

Thank god people are actually picking up on this shit Efaps reviews of each episode are so god damn bad A majority of the criticism I’ve seen stems from people having no understanding of season 1 and the themes especially. They don’t know what’s going on in the show they have no clue I believe genuinely season 2 is better as a work of fiction then season 1 in almost every single way besides plot and pacing. People seem to act plot is the only thing that matters, because they can’t comprehend anything that requires interpretation. If you ask people like this a basic comprehension question, like what does isha actually represent from jinx’s characterisation, why does jinx say “it had to be you” to vi. Is ep 7 an episode about jinx or an episode about ekko (the episode characterises jinx imo). But even from season 1 which they all say is a masterpiece they don’t know what’s going on in season 1, like if you ask why did jinx choose vi over silco, there’s brains would explode, and the shit in season 1 and 2 ain’t complex or requires deep understanding, this isn’t join the club in the sopranos or mad men psychology, it’s basic nuance. I don’t know how they like any work of fiction that’s is good, if somthing isn’t explained to them they have no idea what’s going on. Like everything they hate about season 2 is in season 1 and sometimes worse.

Some of his points were BIAS. Like when he said Jinxers is a horrible name 💀💀💀. What other name you want? What’s wrong with the name 💀💀💀 ALSO, just because the writing might not be up to par with others, you shouldn’t intentionally try to ruin the show for others. Other people found good messages because of things they go through. Being able to relate to a character is what makes you love them. And yes I’d love to see more of your debunking.

Nice taking things out of context. Stop the cope, fanboy. Pacing is on meth. Throwing in references to characters isn't "inclusion" its lazy fan service. Using "Baby Yoda" move with Isha is just lame. Plus, good old multiverse overused in Marvel movies is a joke and substitute for lack of ideas.

Saying “Jayce stepped down” is an awful answer as to why he’s not at the episode 1 meetings. He visits Cait and goes to the memorial so saying that he’s too busy with Victor is flat out wrong. Also just saying he stepped down like thats already happened is wierd when he says in Ep 2 that he is GOING TO, meaning he hasn’t yet. They say it in the show dude, did you watch it? And pretending thats an adequate answer when Jayce is super invested in avoiding war between Piltover and Zaun is just ridiculous. Bruh did you even watch season 1💀
@matthodgkinson2003Сағат бұрын
In ep1 when Mel visits Jayce he explains that he's been studying the changes in the hexcore and what it's doing to Viktor and when she comes in he's been asleep in there so that's probably what happened during the meeting. Also he would trust Mel to do what's right with the council and after S1 he makes it clear he doesn't care about governering and politics anymore so it makes perfect sense he would care more about Viktor. Also he only goes to see Caitlyn after Viktor has been stabilised and Mel tells him how much she's hurting.
@AstrodeBastroСағат бұрын
@ Jayce didn’t do anything to stabilize Victor because as he says, he has no idea what the hexcore is doing to him. And we see that you can’t get close to the stasis without attacking you so it doesn’t even make sense that Jayce can check his vitals. Plus he misses the very next meeting even though Victor is already stable and it’s implied that Mel has already visited once before and Viktor was stable by then so that point is invalid regardless. And S1 did not end with Jayce not caring about politics and governing, thats a wild reading of his character. It ended with him thinking he had regained control of hextech and secured peace between Piltover and Zaun through legislation. He wanted to step down after those major issues were resolved because he never wanted to become a politician in the first place. He became one because he was realized it was the only to achieve his goal of safeguarding Hextech. He’s not gonna quite prematurely when a hextech weapon has just been used to start war, because thats exactly what he has been trying to avoid by using his political power. And you say he trusts Mel to vote but he knows the other councilors don’t care about Zaun and would vote against her, so he should have been there to help with his own vote instead of leaving her out to dry.

I have 225 hours on Spider-Man 2 and platinumed it within 14H. This game genuinely isn't that bad, they changed MJ's model, had a mission where two characters were gay. Like, so what? What did gay people do to you? "I can't handle gay people or women who aren't the sexys, because I have a crippling addiction and I'm a homophobe." I like this game a lot, but that doesn't mean I can't recognise the flaws in it. The LGBT representation and MJ's model change aren't flaws, well, except the lighting on MJ, that's kind of bad. But other than that, they just complain because they hate people who want to make more things natural in society. luv ya collin for doin' this, appreciate it. <3 :p

I hate it when the root of a dude’s criticisms are literally just “this thing didn’t spell out this random concept to me some children’s book, PLOT HOLE!!!” Imagine if I called it a plot hole in Avengers: Infinity War that Thanos and his goons overpowered Thor & the Asgardians and got the power stone off screen. It’s like, geeh, how do you THINK the Mad Titan (who was literally called the most powerful being in the universe by Ronan’s goons) with a powerful army lay seige to the Nova planet and then butt wiped Thor & his people after they got the power stone? This is why you can never get a nuance approach to film analysis anymore, it’s always just random questions that aren’t that big of a deal in the long run anyways. The comments in your Madvocate video are a great example of this
