I prefer the cabochon eyes too. I did a walking upright cat with them & all her fur is done with a reverse needle. It does "follow" with her eyes & has a totally different texture. My very first elf doll had cab eyes, multi colored sparkle (nail polish) with black on the back, she looks magical. I have a huge collection of eyes already painted too. One thing I've always loved that you do is the lips to nose, it looks so much better. I am seeing you do not do your heads & faces as firm as I have in the past so the next doll I will try doing looser like yours. I keep my Living Felt needles separate in the packages they come in, they are my favorites! I'm so glad you are back!
@leightfootfelts29 күн бұрын
Yes I was much happier to use the cabachons. I do want to try out two more techniques before I decide which one I like best, but the trial and error is the fun part I guess. I have a new Facebook page now where you can share pics with me if you’d like. Always practicing and improving. 😊

Sometimes we just need a break. I get overwhelmed & just stop - all of my hobbies. I'm always glad to see you back but I totally understand taking breaks. I've told you before I love making doll clothes, I'm a crafter not a seamstress lol. I do make the majority off the dolls then sew & tailor them on. Most can never come off. I love your little shoes too!
@leightfootfeltsАй бұрын
I’d love to know how to make real human clothes, but I’m not that precise. I’ve tried crocheting some garments for myself, but they’ve never turned out very good. I wish I could see some of your work. Do you have an Instagram? Maybe you could post some pictures on my fb page? I’m excited to try some clay shoes. I’ll do a video of course. Thanks for your comments and support.

When she is covered with clothes you cannot tell. I did fall out of love working on these dolls and my future dolls will be more precise. But no perfection is not required especially with the underbody that you do not see.

She turned out great! How many people can take some puffs of raw wool & create this with a single felting needle? That's my favorite part of felting, showing what it was before it was something!

Excellent to see Winifred getting done! If everyone who viewed would hit the like &/or subscribe buttons, then comment, it would boost your algorithms etc. I was just signing off when this popped up, I'm excited your back! I re-watch a lot of the videos for a refresher on how to do things. No one makes cuter lips & noses than you. I have to re-watch that one each new face. JMO I just make mine for myself, some littles for gifts. I don't do craft sales anymore or I would try to sell some smaller things but big ones need to be ordered, it's a lot of time to make the 12" & up dolls. I've said it before, dressing my dolls is my favorite part!
@leightfootfelts2 ай бұрын
Thank you so much for the comment and watching. I am having more fun with the videos. I struggle with the dressing so maybe you have some tips for me. I’m nervous to do Mary’s face it’s been so long. Hope I’m not too out of practice lol. I’ll have to rewatch my own video. Ha

@@leightfootfelts I always feel like a bit of a stalker when I'm the only one that comments. lol I don't want the YT app on my phone so I can watch but not like or comment, a lot of people do have it & like the vids so at least that helps. On doll clothes, I sew the majority of them by hand first & then tweak them after they are on the doll which I do sew most right into the doll. It's just more fun and easy to do the things separate, especially sleeves & pants & then tailor fit them. Even non soft dolls get sewn into their clothes. You will do fine on the face of Mary, faces are where you really shine.
