Hello i wanted to try a tactile switch. And in my area akko penguin switches are available. I code all day. So i wanted to know are these switch hard to press? will there be fatigue? Should i go with this switch? are these fairly good? Thank you.
@DadTech19813 күн бұрын
Tactility is well pronounced. Bottom out force is 65g. Eventually, it feels heavy to type on and quite fatiguing. I would suggest light tactiles (e.g. Cherry MX Brown, Gateron Beer, etc).

Really neat collection, thanks for sharing! Hope your christmas was wonderful. Recently got back into the keyboard hobby after a few years and think I couldn't have chose a worse time for TKLs. This video left me wanting the Geon goods even more haha, your board configs are lovely. Was looking to upgrade from the budget QK75 I had to F1-8X V2 but saw there was no plans of a F1-8X V2 rerun this year and wasn't too keen on mechmarket used + from people w/o a trade history 😥
@DadTech19813 күн бұрын
I appreciate the kind words! Hope you had a great holiday season as well. What better way is to spend it with love ones. I started off with budget keyboards but as the hobby evolves, I found myself wanting for more. Been enjoying other videos of Geon boards and said to myself that could be my next goal. All of these are obtained from the secondary market, I guess I'm lucky crossing paths with honest and trust worthy individuals that just share the same passion. Hope you get yours too!

@DadTech19819 күн бұрын
That's a tough one. Both amazing premium switches. The Ghost Dragons also make good spacebar switch. But if I have to choose one, it'd be the Obscuras. That is because it's leaning towards somewhere in the middle pitch clack. But really can't go wrong with any of these switches tbh.

do you think it’s worth to buy the mx2a blacks over HG mx blacks if I intend to spring-swap/lube/film them anyways? Also do you think the mx2a black mods you made were game changers? I’ve read online people being happy with them stock
@DadTech198111 күн бұрын
Absolutely! I actually prefer the MX2A bone dry (unlubed to maximize the scratch), filmed, and spring swapped. The stems are polished stock so you can get away with them unlubed. It tends to take away a little bit of scratch when you apply lube but adds smoothness. As for the Hyperglides, they're one of my first batches of Cherry switches and at that time, I didn't think of running them stock. Maybe I should've.
@rkeebs11 күн бұрын
@@DadTech1981 Gotcha, I think I'll get the MX2A's unlubed then. Also, am deciding what springs to get, how do the triple stage long springs feel in these switches in your opinion?

In terms of sound, is MTNU that much deeper than CYL or is it super minimal. I really dislike PBT from other companies because I feel it dulls out the keyboard and doesnt make it sound as lively as GMK CYL ABS. I just dont want to buy MTNU and hate the sound lol
@DadTech198112 күн бұрын
It's pretty minimal, I'd say it's more of a nuanced difference based on the switches I've tried. It's actually the profile that I'm not the biggest fan of.
