It turned out really beautiful! I'm working on a 1670's dress myself with a similar shape right now, so this was pretty helpful to see also.

Wow so amazing! I love seeing how you pack by rolling. Do you ever worry about airport security opening your bags and ruining the clothing?

Don't meant to necro and old post, but you mentioned that these garments seem to have a lot of previous styles' parts. Perhaps because they are reused robes francaise, anglaise, polonaise. They wouldn't need to undo the whole thing. Pleats may have still been there so they just tack them down. Those saque dresses had a lot of fabric that could be made into other gowns.

Thank you for this video! My granddaughter has been cast as Beth in her high school production of "Little Women" in February and my daughter has enlisted me to help make costumes. We won't be using silk on a high school budget, but now I've got lots of creative inspiration!

I always have trouble with the small 10x8 oval swarovski crystals when trying to fit them into the standard basic brass earring settings of the same size. The setting is just a couple of mms too small every time. Is it that the stone may be vintage? Or something else? I went the next size up and they were too big. Would love advice on how to make them fit if possible. Thanks.

What materials did you use for the bodice

If you cover the plastic wrap with layers of duck tape, then mark the tape, you’ll have a much more stable basic pattern, and won’t deform or stretch.

Awesome! Can totally see how these would be great in the winter for the larger calf ladies that can't find boots that are comfy. Thank you !!!!! Skips off to raid the pantry for plastic wrap and the fabric stash to see what's hiding there :)

The ruffle technique soooo much better than zig-zagging over the cord! Which you always catch one spot no matter how careful you are!

Very nice, I am learning to sew 1750s time period, I am totally amazed at the complexity of women's clothing, I need to get a gown make before October, as my wife and I are doing anniversary pictures then my clothing, Breeches, shirt, waistcoat, and frock coat are simple by comparison.

So thrilled I found this video! The Aesthetic Movement is my favourite slice of Victorian/Edwardian and so few people delve into it! It really baffles me as there are so many folks doing history bounding and turn of the century clothing - and this period really is the embodiment of graceful shlump! The most beautiful comfies in all the land! More! More!
