Looks nice ,but wish you had a smaller diameter one for people who don't need that much hose length. Narrower is fine, but it still sticks out really far from the wall to accomodate that length.

It doesn't allow for the ruler stops when a specific drilling postion is required especially during the processing of drawer fronts. This would also not work for the EASYSTICK. Great idea and getting closer to a complete solution, thank you!

Great idea but you should make a fittings for 4" and 5" hoses. Almost anyone who has a blum machine has a dust collector and would connect it to a 4” or 5” dust collector hose not a shop vac. They come with a 4” hose connector.

If I were editing this, I would've used the footage at 0:37 rather than the one we see at 0:35, so when you say "and now, instead of having to tip the blade...," the corresponding visuals would match the dialogue. When you pulled out and laid the flat back tape, viewers expected a demonstration of how it's used. Yet in the next shot, it's a close-up of the rounded tape instead. This is jarring because that's the opposite of what was expected. In editing, it's called a continuity error. Ah well, you're a carpenter, not a videographer, so no big deal, I guess. A tip for next time.

Can you use the clamps while this is installed?
@FastCapLLC
@FastCapLLC 3 күн бұрын
@codarussell7925 Which clamps are you referring to? The SawHood is mounted using the saw's accessory holes. If you have a clamp that uses that accessory hole, you can't use both simultaneously. If you have 2 accessory holes on each side you can use an accessory along with the Sawhood.

The obvious issue with this is the guide rail wobbles all around you have nothing keeping it locked in place. I saw it move several times just during the demo. Make an alignment stop for that... and you have a better product

A good improvement would be customer service. Descent products, but quality is questionable. After 2 months and maybe 2 uses of a BRAND NEW tape the locking mechanism broke. Customer service refused to provide support because I didn’t purchase off their own website. Ridiculous. Would never purchase a product from them again.

That only seems to work with flat casing, but if you have a colonial or other type of casing, you can’t flip it in for end and it would not be sitting flat and would be sitting on an angle.
@FastCapLLC
@FastCapLLC 19 күн бұрын
@mim2046 Yes you are correct it is designed to work best for flat casing. With Colonial, it will still save you some time if you do batch cuts. Like you said, you wouldn't be able to flip the boards.

Great video. Curious what your thoughts are on using a 3rd party 3PL vs. keeping fulfillment in-house?
@FastCapLLC
@FastCapLLC Ай бұрын
keeping it in house is the easiest way for you to be able to make improvements, eliminate waste, and make the process the most efficient it can be. It also allows full ownership to easily pivot due to unforseen circumstances, or new improvement ideas quickly and easily. There are maybe some circumstances in which using a 3PL might make more sense - such as square footage constraints etc. If that is the case though, you should always find someone willing to work with you to make constant improvements to their processes based on your requests, or it will be a nightmare.

@@FastCapLLC Great insights, thanks Paul. I also imagine FBA/Amazon wouldn’t be any better, especially if needing to resolve issues with defects? Ideally, no defects would ever make it out of the plant or factory floor - but in the rare event that they do, it’d be best to have a system to manage or minimize them at the warehouse (e.g. inspection protocols, etc.), to ensure they never reach customers. It’d be hard to catch them if they make it all the way to a 3PL facility, I would imagine.
