Might not be considered a layout but when I had no room for trains I had a straight piece of Lionel track that I cut a section out of both outside rails long enough to let the drivers spin free. I would set this on the table and just watch it run in place and blow the whistle. This kept up my interest until I was out on my own and working and could start railroading again

Looks like you're havin' lots of fun despite the frustration. Thanks for making the video. As long as you're running the trains slowly, you should be able to avoid seeing them crash to the floor. Don't ask how I know about that possibility!😅

Wow, what a great video! I recently bought two 2025s to teach myself how to repair and maintain these classic beauties and it sure has been a labor of love. I have a service manual, but I'm mostly a visual learner. This video really answered some of my questions. Our hobby is a little niche for KZbin, but this video is way underrated (based on views) in my opinion. On the dent , use a heat gun that is used for auto repair and a soft plastic or nylon mallet. Rest the roof on a soft surface like a block of wood and tape it gently.
