That turned out beautiful ❤ I have 3c soft hair & planning to do microlocs with extensions. Do you recommend I feed in the extension at the root with my hair as I braid like a knotless braid? Or braid my natural hair then crochet the extension at the root then braid down with my hair. I’m just worried about the tension when it’s time to interlock.

@@copticqueen9930 for longevity, I say crochet at the root. Doing the knotless way will cause slippage with your texture. But it also depends on how long your hair is.

Is it ok to add the hair by feeding it into your hair by just braiding it in like a knotless braid or will that create to much tension when it’s time to interlock ?

@@dashingnurse5098 yes you can, it would be like removing any braid style but the longer you keep it in, the harder it’ll be to remove

@@dashingnurse5098 I would do a regular braid in method for temporary styles like people do with synthetic hair. Crocheting method is for extra security for permanent styling

I don't understand the method please post the steps without the added hair. I see you putting a small pin at the root but what does that do and how is that not tieing knots in the hair?!?!

@@lisavice7253 without adding hair, you would braid the root for about 2 inches then twist down the hair. Interlocking the roots provides a tighter root and starts the locking process. Essentially I am creating knots in the hair.

I’m in the process of doing mines myself. I’m using my son’s locks that he cut off. I had to tweak his locks a little. I dyed them and tightened them up. I’m currently parting my hair. Next I’m going to instaloc my real hair. I can’t wait I’m excited!!

I'm in the early stages of my loc journey, and I don't think they're "ugly" at all, nor do I plan to cover them up. I wash my hair every 10 days, put it in a loose cornrow, rock a braid-out whenever I have to go out somewhere, and I get lots of compliments.

Thanks for the video! When interlocking 2 up to the root, what happens if the tool gets stuck or a knot is created in the loc? I tried doing this to my son’s hair years ago and remember having the problem of accidentally creating knots in his hair that I couldn’t figure out how to remove.

@@cathlynncharles2709 it means it’s either too tight or not pulled all the through. You would have to reverse it by going back in the hole the opposite way.
