I wonder how much gaslighting Volvo has done trying to avoid paying up on this issue. Probably a lot because pulling the pistons out isn't exactly an easy job.

Hello, an important, beautiful and distinctive topic. I hope you continue. I have a question about the Geely Tugella engine. It is actually a Volvo 4-cylinder engine. I am coming to buy this car. What are the defects of the engine and what is the solution to reduce the sound of the fuel pump? Press high. I hope you answer my question. I trust everything you say.

The 5 cylinder 2.4 /2.5 engines are so much better than the 4 cylinder ones. My winter commute car is a S40 1.8 ltr engine, 310.000k and counting and it uses 1 liter of oil every 1500km. My V70 2.4 has 500.000k and uses 1 liter every 15.000km, mostly towing a 1500kg trailer. The 4's came from Ford, not from Volvo proper, but the 4's on my wife's 2018 V40 1.5 ltr turbo engine is Swedish made also spot on. Ford and most US engines are crap.

@TheVolvoGuy i have the same issue with S80 D4 2014 d4204t5 engine. By any chance do you know which one is the piston with the problem, 82mm bore or 82.5mm bore ? I want to repair it, and I'm not sure which one to buy, to make sure i get the updated one. I tried to get help from Volvo dealership in Romania, but they are useless and really expensive. Thank you for your help and video.

Please help me out, 16' xc90 t6, random misfire when accelerates, supercharge and turbo charge don't kick in, replaced new spark plugs and coil packs still same issue, should I replace injectors or reseal supercharge? Shop is quoting me $7500 to do all that including O2 sensors, I can't afford that much, the car has 100k miles already, can't sell it with CEL on, I want to start replacing the least expensive parts to see which fixes the issue. Could you give me some advices please? thanks in advance!

Hello there, I have a question in reference to the SI6 3.0 T6. I got a used V60 40K on it and have just replaced spark plugs. One of the spark plug, the closest to the air box had a just tiny bit of dry oil in the chamber and tiny sprinkle of oil at the tip of a oil. The spark plug seemed a less tight than the rest. Could that be the tightness of the spark plug or pcv valve cover trap, or am I looking into the cam shaft cover replacement/reseal? Obviously I will recheck the spark plug coil and chamber within a few thousand miles just to be sure? I was curious about your take, suggestion. Thank you in advance.M.

Tried everything and only thing that worked is format with MiniTool Partition wizard to FAT32 and MBR type. Also move the downloaded files out of the folder. Hope this helps for some.

Hello! Volvo V60-B4 2021 I installed a new map and I can't go back. I can't install a new map. No response to USB. (I tried FAT32, exFAT, NTFS). Music USB works. Now navigation doesn't work. What is the solution?

Hello Mr The Volvo Guy, excellent instructional videos! I found this video while searching for the cause of my mystery engine oil leak. It's coming from the area of the timing chain cover, but visibility is highly obstructed in this area, as you know. Oil accumulates on top of the transmission between the vacuum pump and the water pump, and will eventually run down the back of the transmission. I cleaned everything very well and put dye in the engine, and this is where I'm seeing it after 2 days of driving. Is there an area that's prone to leaking, in your experience? Your help would be greatly appreciated! I have no problem paying you for your input. It's a 2011 S80 3.2L, FWD2

Buy a vacuum pump seal kit and a new drive belt from FCP Euro. Swap the water pump while you're in there. Good luck.

Solution to this (cost you nothing): Give that new Valvoline Oil Restore and Protect motor oil a chance to clean those ring holes. Might well work from the research I have seen. It may take a few oil changes to complete the job but what the heck.

Mine had a loud squealing noise. It was the oil trap. Very easy fix. Takes about 15 minutes to replace.

One of the best detailed videos I've seen on this! No music, no background nosie, step by step instructions👌 Is there a spot on the timing chain cover where it usually start to leak? Top of my gear box is oily. Need to diagnose so I can buy the part. Don't have a garage, I'm on the street doin this. Would help alot if you knew. Replaced vaccum pump gasket, water pump, pulleys and still leaking from somewhere. Greetings from Sweden!

I have a 2013 S60 T5 AWD (this is the 5-cyl turbo engine). The oil level does drop on this vehicle far faster than I'd anticipate considering the number of miles we put on it weekly. There is no sign of smoke coming from the exhaust, but I have noticed that oil is leaking from the back side (turbo side) of the engine as well as around the base of the oil filter housing. Not enough to drip on the ground, but oil is leaking. There is also a faint burning oil smell in the cabin after running the car and coming to a stop, which I'm guessing means that oil is leaking onto exhaust components and burning/smoking. Any thoughts on the likely causes of the unexpected oil level drop? The first gear clutches in the Aisin trans have also given up and I need to replace the transmission so I thought I'd have whatever additional work that needs to be done taken care of while its in the shop. Fun!

Hi. Do you know where the oil pressure sensor is located on the D5 xc90 2016?

2011 lr2 have what sounds like a noisy pulley around my ac compressor area. Almost sounds similar to a slight rod knock motor is completely healthy and sound is independent from rpm. Would the pulley under the ax compressor be a culprit ? Have replaced the idler and tensioner on that main belt system the noise still persists.

Thanks, helpful in learning about the engine in my 2018 P3 Polestar. Have you seen the kind of issues or failures on a p3 Polestar? I believe the engine internals and turbo are different.
@olaagnilssonАй бұрын
Internals: shorter rods and upgraded rod bearings. Others: bigger turbo, cat, and downpipe. The rest is from T6, if memory serves me right.

Hi. I've dome my engine on my 2017 xc90 2.0 D4 and I got a vibration on the car . How i time the balance shaft. Can you tell me what i need to do that . Thanks
@DreynoАй бұрын
Bought a 2014 V60 D4 a few months ago. Googled issues to see the usual diesel EGR stuff but otherwise nothing seemed obvious. But it’s using a lot of oil so I googled oil consumption and loads of stuff appeared. Apparently the algorithm isn’t as refined as we think. It’s using 1lt per 500km. I love the car but I’m in two minds about what to do with it. Unlike the previous owner, I wouldn’t be happy to sell it on with such an obvious defect but I also can’t afford to have the engine ripped and rebuilt. For now I will just have to feed it oil but it’s turned me off a brand I’ve always admired.
