@@K5KTM no worries! Glad to answer! No power from radio. There is a power cable with a difficult to find connector… I replaced that connectoe with an aviation type one… so I can easily power it up with a 24V psu or battery

On the front panel mic connectors are Racal britisth type.or NATO type?

Cool radio, I had a British Army Clansman PRC320 which I fitted with the LSB mod, a great talking point radio, but way too heavy for practical field use.

This is a GREAT (and under-rated) manpack, real Collins quality. I have the digital control head made by Zlatko, that makes this radio really usable for HAM applications. The nice thing is that the head is plug-and-play, so no modification is done to the radio; I saved the original electro-mechanical head for originality. I rebuilt the battery pack using modern NiCd batteries; next time I will use more efficient technology. I agree that the tuner tunes even a wet noodle.

Hola! Intento que el video lonpuedan ver el mayor número de personas posibles. Este mundo de la radio militar es muy reducido… ponerlo en castellano reduciría mucho el alcance… puedes piner subtitulos en español creo. Algun dua hare alguno en Castellano sí. El uso del DSP NR en el 746 da un efecto cascada muy desagradable bajo mi punto de vista. Con el mismo DSP conectado el 7200 tiene una recepción mucho más natural y nítida. Para mí el 7200 es el ganador.

@@Radiogenes En eso te doy toda la razón. Es algo que no me gusta nada. Al no poder regular el tiempo de caída del agc en los picos de estática y ruido la caída del agc es tan lenta que el equipo se queda como un segundo sordo. Creo recordar que el IC7000 siendo más pequeño si se podía regular la respuesta del agc.

The fan is pulling current from the battery via USB, leading to more heat internally.... is this actually coming out as a net cooling effect?

@@sc20910 there is active dissipation and then passive cooling. The fan takes very little current so the heat it agregates must be marginal

@@Radiogenes Also works on other branded Motorola MemoExpress pagers I have in my collection. A 2nd one turns out to be set to 2400 aswell instead of the most commonly used 1200. And I thought I had the wrong CAP/RIC code.

I've been using a PRC 320 Clansman for last 10 years doing SOTA. 11kg but rides comfortably on the back and ancillary bag on chest. Gives me 30 watts at summit. You did well with 2 watts! Cheers VE1PVH always /P

The backpack for the prc320 is very well designed. Thin and compact. I think it is much better than the one ai used, aa harris one. 🙌

Great video, great radio! I have a 2ES civilian version. Pretty sure Mobat changed the control head to a milspec unit and added the speaker, otherwise the UI is the same. Love these bulletproof radios.
