I was lucky enough to get to tour Chartwell this past June and it was even more beautiful than this video. If you ever get the chance to go, do it! Lovely and the artifacts are great to see too. I would have loved to have been so lucky to live here! We got to see the black swans too but didn't get to see the ginger cat, Jock.

Hello..... yes me again. The benches ect are missing from the city because people in general, tourist or not are messy so and so's...... they leave rubbish instead of cleaning up after themselves so to not have left over food, bottles, paper ect blowing around or into the water and beyond into the sea better not having them.

On the Holidays front, I use that term in the international format to encompass everything over the festive period from the beginning of advent to the 12th night. Hey Gary, I'm a big fan of your videos. I watch them often as I consider them an oasis of tranquillity in an ever more 'untranquil world, to put it politely. I even use them in my classes sometimes. I was just watching this one with my wife and noticed your pronunciation of the city's name. May I point out it is pronounced Treer ( as in 'beer') rather than the 'Triyer' I think I heard. Best wishes for you and Janis. And happy Holidays. Greetings from an expat in Mexico.

Hi Luc, Thanks for that, I seem to have the uncanny ability with my pronunciation to make mistakes. There's a few from memory that spring to mind; Bremen, also in Germany, Valladolid in Spain, but worst of all it's the UK ones, even in my own country of Kent, Horsmonden. I sometimes ask how I pronounce where I am when I check in, but that sometimes gets me strange looks. Thanks for the advice, when I return to Trier, I'll know. Thanks again, Gary (& Janis)

@OurWorldForYou
@OurWorldForYou 2 ай бұрын
Hi Guys, Firstly, Germany at Christmas is magical, not just the twinkling lights but the atmosphere of the people - really worth experiencing. Being the time of year you're going to have to expect the weather may not be your friend, which means two things: dress and plan accordingly. Have a museum or two to take in, or explore something that interests you, or just become a fly on the wall, find a brauhaus or wirtshaus, have a couple of drinks and soak up the atmosphere. As you're coming a distance, probably plan to visit a few 3 to 5, but they can be tiring, and you judge them against each other. Go fo a mix of big 'n' small - That post we mentioned in the video would be a good starter. ourworldforyou.com/14-of-our-much-loved-german-christmas-markets/ Finally, videography - yep that's a word, and thanks so much. We have a strange little workflow. When we travel, I (Gary) take the still photos, and Janis shoots the video. When we get back, Janis writes the posts, constructs the socials and I build the web pages and edit the videos. It takes time, and I try to put in as much as possible; that's why there's so much commentary, but that takes time. That 15-minute video took me around 36 hours from over 40 minutes of footage, but I enjoyed it, and if I can encourage one person to have a great time, then it's worth it. Anyway, enough chatter, and have a great weekend. 🤞 you make it here one year and create a fantastic bunch of memories. All the best, Gary & Janis

Great video, I lived and worked in Cyprus for 12 years so explored a lot. But please, can you fix the "Pathos" to the correct version of the name... You can use Pafos or Paphos, I've often seen holidaymakers call it Phaphos after a 2 week stay too 😊 Thank you! I'm not having a dig at you, I just like to see it right 😉 We always took our visitors to the archaeological park. Great place!

Guys, That is no problem. Helpful advice is always welcome, I struggled to see where I had made the error; I know during the production, I seemed to get it constantly wrong, but I thought I consistently referred to it as Paphos throughout the video; the subtitles and description, and I couldn't see the issue - Then I saw the thumbnail! How, after two and a half years had nobody else mentioned it! I fixed it now, thanks for letting me know, All the best, Gary & Janis

@@OurWorldForYou Hi Gary & Janis - excellent. It's #perfect now and thanks for not taking any offence. I foloow you on Twitter X but only subscribed after catching a link to your account from a post and of course, natural curiosity took me to your Cyprus playlist. I shall have a look now to see what other goodies you have to offer! Myself, I tend to stick to KZbin shorts - I don't like being on camera and just don't have the patience to provide voiceovers, especially with a Lancashire accent which never produces clear subtitles ;-) We're currently looking at a different place to visit from Benidorm as we're familiar with the destination and a winter trip means we will want to be out and about. We've visited Villajoyosa and Alicante so we're toying with taking an overnight stay around Denia during our 9 nights in the early part of winter. Cheers, Shell
@OurWorldForYou
@OurWorldForYou 2 ай бұрын
Hi Shell, I'm not easily offended (Gary); I look after our KZbin stuff (Although Janis shoots all the footage), IG replies, Threads and our blog post creation - Janis creates the IG content & about 95% of the posts on the blog. I work from a script and then upload it to KZbin rather than rely on autogeneration. A dodgy southeast London accent that I've tried to polish throws up a few quirks otherwise. The script helps me get the facts right as I narrate, and I do try to slow it down a little. I have to write the script as I watch the video, and weave in any bits like the 'like & subscribe' segments as I go. However, it's a journey, you learn as you go, and do what works for you. Our friends at @flydriveexplore put us onto VidIQ on KZbin - loads of great pointers there for tuning your content. Onto Spain, we've done 3 road trips through the country, love it, not so keen on the Anglicised bits where you can get a full-English though. I always recommend Seville for a bit of winter sun, and a touch of culture - plus tapas to die for. Valencia's also nice, maybe worth a look Anyway, to paraphrase Strictly - 'keep creating' All the best, Gary & Janis

Dave, That's always the challenge, and Janis manages that so well, as I do the still photography. Normally, there's a fair bit of editing too, and a careful selection of shots, and sometimes you just have to go with the flow. To be honest, we've been three times, and it won't be our last (Helps Westerham Brewery is just around the corner too!), and if you like history, don't forget to check out Quebec House - It's in the video 'Our visit to Westerham in Kent, and a look around the National Trust Quebec House' - kzbin.info/www/bejne/jGSbeJd6eKakqsU . Major General Wolfe is an overlooked figure, but he's remembered in monuments in so many places. I loved your video on Westerham; it's great to see how we all create our content differently. I'll drop a comment shortly. All the best, Gary & Janis

Good day. I am very sorry. I really enjoy your videos, but this time the music is louder than your voice, so i am afraid it's difficult to understand what you are saying. Best wishes ❤

Hey Tatjana, Please don't apologise - my mistake. It sounded okay on my PC, both in the app and when I exported, but something must have happened in the upload process. I will make sure I bring the background levels down in future videos (Just so you know, all my videos have subtitles I created, rather than KZbin created, so you can use these - but you shouldn't need to) Anyway, thanks so much for the support, Всего наилучшего - All the best, Gary & Janis

Hi Tatjana, 😀 Of course not, I peeked at your opening video, and lo and behold, Canary Wharf, my working home for 18+ years. Working in IT in that environment is not really a place for shrinking violets. Plus you comments were helpful, not a problem - I'll try to make sure it doesn't happen again. All the best, Gary (& Janis)

@OurWorldForYou Hi Gary, thank you 😊 I live in Poplar so Canary Wharf is almost on my doorstep 😉 There was a Guide Dogs Charity event last year with the trail of dogs sculptures. This Charity is very close to my heart, I have done fundraising in 2022. My aim was to walk 400km in July and to raise £1500 but I've managed to walk 500km and raise £2500😊 I am originally from Lithuania but I live in London since 2007. Best regards Tatjana

Tatjana, Wow, that's amazing, such a good cause. Now, I have a question: where's the English language version of your channel? You have some great content, and I'm sure we English speakers would love to hear your storytelling. (My Russian is a little rusty 😊) Whatever, keep up the good work, share the word to the Russian-speaking world (but an English version would be nice), and keep exploring. All the best, Gary & Janis

I love Romney Marsh but especially Dungeness. I remember it being for sale and if I had enough money I would have loved to own it as by the whole scene of things Idont think it was that much money, not quite sure what I would have done with it but tried to keep it as it was, just a little tidying up.However it does make me wonder why EDF have bought it ,why would a French company be interested it Know of many places that are supeosedly owned by foreign investors and there is often an ulteiria motive linked to money, which we can end up financing and that's not good for our fragile economy

Hi Tim, Dungeness is special, such a magical place. Like you, I agree that the Dungeness estate should not be 'private' hands, actually it's owned by the French State, as EDF is wholly French. I do wonder why we can't have a British State-owned energy company, but now we're wandering into politics. At least it's possible to still explore it freely and explore the magic that is Dungeness. All the best. Gary & Janis

Hi It could be my 'H's', but I think it was a link to the Friars website and another for Aylesford Farmer's Market. Hope that helps, All the best, Gary & Janis
