Spiritual and architectural masterpieces and we thank you for this two-part series. The countryside itself is gorgeous, and the addition of these treasures is wonderful. Thanks for sharing your travels with us!

Thank you - once again you have created a wonderful resource for those interested or planning a trip around this stunning landscape. After watching Part 1, I was reminded of the disappointment I felt, as despite the exterior historic heritage of each church - I invariably felt some feeling of loss, when, upon entering the church, I was faces with yet another completely whitewashed interior :( As a medieval historian, one could only imagine what colour and imagery had been removed, with only the occasional and rare survivor of the former medieval paintings that most churches would have been adorned with. Anyway, thank you - very well done as always :)

Thanks as always, this pair of videos has been a labour of love. When researching the churches, and those wonderful artefacts hidden in plain sight, it was interesting with the wall painting to understand how many more had been overpainted over the ceturies, and if the latest technology could rediscover them without the need to strip back the paint, and what would it tell you? As always, thanks for you comment, home the autumn/winter there in New Zealand is not to back - we have a lovely start to summer, but it'll soon be 'too' warm - you know us British Kind regards, Gary & Janis

@@OurWorldForYou Indeed, you observation regarding the possibilities that new technology may be able to see through the layers of whitewash may not be so far off the mark. I have worked with, and kept myself informed about new digital scanning techniques when used to investigate many medieval manuscripts, with astonishing results. The powerful algorithms now employed for a wide range of scanning requirements are improving at an ever faster pace, so that material once thought completely lost is once again brought into the light. Most of these small local churches would have had interior walls bright with paintings or fresco`s for the praise of God. So, hopefully just a matter of time - there is always hope :)

Indeed, let's hope progress is made and more history is unravelled. Thanks again for the comment, Best wishes, Gary & Janis

In a mad world your channel is an island of peace and tranquility and your voice the cherry on the cake, -warm greetings from Ireland (have you ever traveled in this country?) and thanks! 🤩

Hi, Thanks so much, that's very kind of you. I think we all need a little peace in a rather mad world. Our first mini-break was to Dublin, many, many years ago, I'd say 1995, and we loved it, but we've not been back since. I think we'd really enjoy a road trip around the country, perhaps that's something we should look into in the future. (grey cells now spinning!) Thanks again for stopping by and taking the time to comment, All the very best, Gary & Janis

@@OurWorldForYou If you ever do get the notion to come over check out the West Cork Garden Trail, and having lived here and worked as a gardener for many years I can assure you that it doesn't rain anywhere near as much as people are led to believe (at the moment our rain barrels are once more empty and dry...) 😏

🤣🤣 - I think the rain follows us around, we even caught a downpour or two in Spain, and people said "It doesn't normally rain this time of year" - So I think we'll have to accept responsibility. I've just checked out the garden trail, that looks stunning. I think we just need to get acquainted with our electric car, which arrives on Tuesday, and master the nuances of planning an EV trip, and then I'm sure we'll pencil in 2-3 weeks scratching the surface of you're wonderful country and its culture. All the very best, Gary & Janis
