What about a fusion bottom? Have you worked with one of those to feel the difference? Im curious what various fancy bottoms do. The fusion has the thick raw bottom, with two holes on the bell

Yes, but is flat. Has no bell.

I've used a sabian el sabor 14 inch bottom hi hat cymbal with an aax metal hi hat top cymbal and it turned out to be 1 of my all time favorite hi hat combinations

the el sabor bottom hi hat cymbal would be the equivalent of a sabian flat hat hi hat bottom cymbal both the flat hat cymbal hi hat bottom and the el sabor bottom hi hat cymbal have no bell cup and the el sabor bottom hi hat cymbal doesn't have any holes drilled in / on it although it's shaped just like the flat hi hat bottom cymbal ...check it out sometime ....you just might really like it ....just only a suggestive thought ....that's all ....

the el sabor sabian series line came out sometime in the 80's to the best of my knowledge as I remember and it included a few different sizes of crash & ride cymbals also that were available at that time ......loved em' then and love em ' still to this day ❤💯😊🙂
