There are products that'll restore faded rubber to black
@mikeonabike89696 күн бұрын
And, there are cheap products that fade with minimal sun exposure...I wouldn't buy these again. Some of the powder coated aluminum fork covers look pretty slick.

i got the 12" ones. The ride height is 1" higher. It corners better, it takes the small to medium bumps much better. but they can not deal with deep potholes as the shock is only limited to 2" of travel. That is an indian issue and not a shock issue
@vegasdetroiter14 ай бұрын
Can you please post the part number for these from Amazon? You Got the 11 1/2", right? And you said the ride height is lower than stock.... that's what I'm looking for. Do you think the ride height would be even lower with the 11"?
@mikeonabike89694 ай бұрын
Part number 444-4063B 11.5 HD Sportster shocks. Yes, the ride height was lower than stock. I would assume the 11's would be too short, but honestly, I don't know.

Can't quite hear you. I have a 2022 scout rogue sixty an can only assume it's the same fitment only difference being I don't have the upper piece for the light cover(I'll wrap in vinyl) what size fork boots did you purchase (length an inner diameter top/bottom) great informative video!
@mikeonabike8969 Жыл бұрын
Sorry you couldn't hear. I went back and listened again and thought the audio isn't good, I didn't have any trouble hearing. Anyway...the fork gaiters I bought were the 39mm from Biker's Choice. I WOULD NOT, buy them again as they faded to a brown just from road time - this bike is stored inside.
@hurricanewin882 жыл бұрын
So question. I did this mod and even max preload I'm a quarter inch under the recommended shock length. Have you had any issues from this. Ride is great and your install was solid just worried that the shocks are bottoming out to much. Also I think a good thing to point out is this may remove the ability to ever ride 2 up. Unless you go with the heavy duty ones but then if your light weight it may be rougher 🧐 Great video thanks for not being afraid to think outside the box and try something new.
@mikeonabike8969 Жыл бұрын
Thanks. While I don't bottom-out, I have found that I scrape the case more often than I used to. Thanks for pointing out the 2-up issue. I would not recommend this if you ever have a passenger...in fact, the more I ride these, the more I don't recommend doing it. I'm looking for another shock at the moment.

Hello, Mike, I love the way the turn signal looks on your bike. I own a 21 Indian scout bobber and I purchased the disc led signal lights but can't find the right mirrors. what kind of mirrors do you have on your bike?

Do you by any chance know or remember what size the mounting screw was (the bit you took the nut off of). I have a Triumph and the bars are threaded too but is M6 and anything I can find and have bought is M8 and I don’t really want to drill the hole out to make others fit. If anyone could help it would be much appreciated
@mikeonabike89693 жыл бұрын
I do not. But I'm about to change bar end mirrors so when I do that I'll check
@aidan40622 жыл бұрын
@C Paul Did you find an answer for this? I'd like to put these on my Bonneville and had the impression I'd have to remove the threaded bar ends, but it sounds like maybe MG includes a threaded bolt that may or may not fit.
@shaneyup2065 Жыл бұрын
I'm wondering the same, can't find that thread size anywhere online. Any way you could throw a caliper on the threads and let us know it is m6?

Do you have to remove the handlebars and everything else ? You can’t just remove the fairing and drill a hole in the handlebar that way and fish the wires ?
