Im not sure this is an exact comparison for me. Its a functional option however its not an "around the campfire" option. Not to mention the biggest flaw in this plan. If you dont have an Iphone and instead use Android, no Loopy Pro for you.

Is there a way to wirelessly sync to iPads or two iPhones running Loopy Pro so they will follow the same tempo? When you mentioned it works on the iPhone 5s it made me think how cool would it be to just dedicate an iOS device to each instrument, I play a few different instruments and deciding which instrument gets what effects and which looper to send it to is always a brain challenge, if each simply has their own iPhone that would solve pretty much everything. Thanks for the super informative and inspiring looping videos.

I'm surprised at how some of the comments here get so angry. I own 2 Yamaha guitars and they are good. I own 3 Boss loopers and they are good, but now they are some what limited, but comparison. Loopy Pro has the most latitude of any looper, hardware or otherwise, it's like two different worlds. I believe that Max was pointing out that you can do looping with a great looper just as easy as the built in one, with what you ALREADY have. It's not a Yamaha put down. If you like it get the Yamaha and have fun with it. He was just saying if you already have any guitar and a iPhone/iPad, even older ones, your just $30 away from having a great looper set up. Btw, the person who made the off-handed remark about Max has no idea of what the are talking about! That person should watch his videos and he'd realize how off handed that was. Also, some of the folks thought that having a Reverb and Delay built-in to the guitar means that it's as advanced as Loopy Pro. That's not the case. Loopy Pro's built in capabilities out number all other Loopers by miles, not to mention the programming capabilities. The best part then is the ability to ALSO use the extensive list of AUv3 plugins with Loopy Pro. Thanks Max for all of the great information you have shared with us about Loopy Pro, I look forward to your continuing videos!

The argument against the Yamaha boils down to cost, doesn't it? However, the other example is the cost of your guitar, your iPhone (not inexpensive) and the cost of the app to release all of the features and the gear to hook it up and the gear to listen to what you are creating. With the Yamaha, you don't even need an amp. Good review. Since I have a guitar and a phone (android) and some headphones, I only needed to purchase Loopify (it's the android equivalent to Loopy Pro).

Hi. Can you incorporate drum beats into the looper? I'm interested in buying a looper and this app is very interesting, but there are pedals that have different rhythms and beats built in. Does this app have those rhythms? If not, can I use a drum effects pedal and integrate it into the app?
@max_yar_guitar8 күн бұрын
Hi! Loopy Pro doesn’t come with built-in drum rhythms, but you have lots of options to add drum beats. You can use drum apps within Loopy Pro, add plugins like Digistix, Koala Sampler, Hammerhead or even import your own audio drum loops-Loopy Pro will automatically match them to your project’s tempo. Alternatively, if you have a Drum Effects Pedal, you can connect it through a MIDI-compatible audio interface, sync it with Loopy Pro, and choose which device sets the tempo I have a video where I demonstrate these plugins in action; feel free to check it out: kzbin.info/www/bejne/kHmxmYOBmraJZ8k kzbin.info/www/bejne/lXq7lmqPiK6XgtU kzbin.info/www/bejne/rX6ucoKElpKrj6M kzbin.info/www/bejne/gYrShn-siN-eY9U You can also play drum beats yourself directly on the iPhone or iPad screen, or by connecting an external MIDI controller or MIDI keyboard: kzbin.info/www/bejne/q3bVY6l4nptnf80 kzbin.info/www/bejne/hHi8pY2Dot2ahdk

Hi Max, my name is Andrea Bonardi, I bought your loopy pro on line tutorial, but there wasn't much about setting up pedal midi controller especially bluetooth irig blueboard, the one i have. I really need your help! What I need is very basic but as a matter of fact I'm not able to set it up: I need to press a button to start recording a loop, then stop it and start it again when I need it. What it does it starts recording and when I press it again it starts playing immediately. I'm willing to pay you for a template or online lesson whatever it will work better for you, thanks Andrea Bonardi

Hi Andrea! It's very simple! Just connect the irig blueboard via Bluetooth, then press MIDI learn, then select a loop, then press the button on the Irig. That's all! Here is the time code by which I do this in the video: kzbin.info/www/bejne/i4S7pHuZmsublbM. And here is another useful video: kzbin.info/www/bejne/iZTbdn9_f62cpKc. Awesome video Max. With your help I've figured out how to use single tap on my M-Wave Chocolate to Play/Rec/Stop. Do you know if this pedal allows for "Hold" and "Double-Tap"? I've been using CubeSuite but it doesn't seem to work. Is there a better app for programming the pedal buttons? Thanks so much for your awesome videos and I'm really enjoying your course.
@max_yar_guitar8 күн бұрын
Thank you! I’m glad the videos and course are helpful! For the M-Wave Chocolate, the best setup for versatile control is using the Manufacturer Control preset in CubeSuite. In that mode, the controller sends an ON signal when you press the button and an OFF signal upon release. From there, you can set up the actions in Loopy Pro as shown in my video. Also, I’m planning a video specifically on this controller soon! If you have any other questions or suggestions for it, feel free to let me know

If you'd like to hear my pickups, check out that video kzbin.info/www/bejne/kIS9ioqoerCCfrM - I use Fishman Rare Earth Mic Blend as my main pickup. It has a built-in mic for natural acoustic vibes. Also, I got a second output jack. It’s a simple piezo disk pickup to capture kick sound :)

Incomparable imo. You need headphones for overdubbing which you don't on the Yamaha. The Yamaha sounds a lot better than this and also has many other features this doesn't. The price comparison also isn't a good one because there are free apps for looping that make $29 comparatively very expensive.

I tried it using the ipad pro and the sound this mic picks up is insane. I heard my wife rambling in the kitchen better than without headphones. Also a really high noise floor. Unless I’m missing something regarding the built in mic and certain settings?
@max_yar_guitar8 күн бұрын
To adjust the mic gain, check your settings, as all modern Apple devices have multiple microphones, letting you choose which one works best for your setup. In Loopy Pro, open the mixer, find the input channel, and pick the mic that sounds best to you. If you’re noticing constant background noise, I recommend using the Brusfri plugin, which does an excellent job at reducing noise. You can apply it to your input channel to filter out any unwanted sounds
@tomm50235 күн бұрын
@ This helped a lot. Especially lowering the boost. Now I noticed that with two mics, eg the front mic, there’s noticeable latency, which I don’t have with the top mic. Do you also experience this?

I just received my new Yamaha TAG3 and it is SPECTACULAR! He's wrong about moving your hand because you can DUB anything in perfectly where you want at anytime. Dubbing is unlimited. You "quickly" get use to pressing "the button" with ease. The Bluetooth in the TAG3 C is great too because you can play with tracks very nicely. I highly recommend the Yamaha TAG 3 C for those interested. I'm not sure if this guy has ever even played a Yamaha TAG3 C so anything he "complains" about is bias and ignorant. Ignore his ignorance.

I think your opinion is respectable until you call Max Yar ignorant. He’s anything but ignorant. He’s a highly respected teacher on looping and FingerStyle guitar. His opinion on live looping is well put and Loopy Pro is - by far - the best alternative to live looping once you understand its potential. I love Yamaha products - they are very well made. Max Yar point of view is very welcome and should be respected because he knows a lot on the subject. Success with your new instrument.

But a lot of people choose the waza air for the extra convenience. Me included. It’s the same with this guitar. For me it’s worth the extra money.
