This circle cutter on a table saw will support the Neewer camera dolly's on a circle, the track groove is also cut on the table saw with the jimmy jig in place, this support plywood circle, with groove will not allow the dolly to fall off, as the movement is continuous, continue the video to the end kzbin.info/www/bejne/pZvUomadpN2lY8U

This is absolutely amazing. I’ve had the DL300 and really appreciate its design but felt disappointed by the app and the exact functionality that you added here, which it lacked. I just ordered the new DL400 and found this video from another fellow who reviewed the newer model and linked your video/website. Apparently it works with the DL400 as well. My wish would be that this code was integrated into an app. If you did that, and made a GUI, I could totally see Neewer just buying it off you and making it their official app! I feel like this dolly is one of the most unrealized filming tools on the market today, perhaps in large part because it’s lacking this app. Awesome work though! And thank you for sharing. A side question: does this work on iOS phones too? I tried just now and the connect button doesn’t have any effect. Tried multiple browsers.

Definitely doesn't work on iPhone or iPad as they do not allow / support Web Bluetooth in browser at all. I'm toying with the idea of an iOS app. :D

@@everlasting1 darn! That’s a huge bummer. But if you make an iOS app I will 100% buy it, whatever it ends up costing. On a side note: Oddly, I’m currently finding the DL400 to be not quite as useful to me as the DL300. With the motor off the gears are still engaged so you can’t really slide it smoothly manually. And maybe the worst part is that they used lightly treaded tires on the DL400 which is causing noticeable shakiness even on the most perfectly smooth surfaces. What were they thinking?!? I’m hoping a rubber band over the wheels helps.

See folks? That’s what happens when you speak nicely to your disks and disk drives! Seriously though, thank you so much for your skills, time and care spent recovering the contents of this disk for me. As background, this disk with license N1061 was given to me by Paul Woakes (the creator of NovaLoad, as well as many games such as Mercenary) back in 1987 when I worked at SpeedLock and we were considering adding music to our cassette loaders. A few years have gone by, and I just happened to find this when clearing out our house. It’s remarkable enough that it endured only the damage that it did - international move, dogs, life - a real miracle that its contents survived.

Novaload was used as a commercial fastloader for cassette based games. I used to LOVE the noise it made at the start of loading a game. Someone once said it was part of the "tuning" process to ensure a good load. That "Myscreen" when you ran it looks very similar to what you would see when the cassette first loads and this is when you would hear that noise. What you have there on that disc looks like the software used to make the master tape copy complete with the Novaload fast transfer header (ie the small slow loading bit). That's a RARE find. Please make sure it gets preserved for the wider community to have a play with!

Never thought some one would actively want to preserve drm of all things. I guess he is just nostalgic for some software he made.
@everlasting1
@everlasting1 7 ай бұрын
I think the main motivation is preservation. I’ve also found people actively making tapes with Novaload in the community to make the experience more authentic. One of the neat bits is that it played music during the loader sequence and that experience is cool to replicate with your own games!

@@everlasting1 ohh I think i know what your talking about now. I'm from Canada so cassette games arent as common. I have copied Commando onto a a year or two ago to casette and i think it says nova load. I forgot and thought it was just drm. That is a cool idea for new games to do that.
@simonberry3310
@simonberry3310 7 ай бұрын
It’s exactly about preservation. NovaLoad was available for both cassettes and diskettes, and sought primarily to speed up the painfully slow Commodore load processes. It was also about making the user experience nicer, including a “timer” counter, scrolling message and music during the load. Its unusual format and some encryption also acted as something of a hacking deterrent. This rare diskette from the original author has contents seen by few: the mechanism to take an original program and apply NovaLoad to it. This is why there are license numbers: mine is N1061. When the NovaLoad game loads, the license number is displayed. in this way it is possible to determine whose license was used to apply NovaLoad to the game.

Is there a way to do this on an M2 Mac mini? My Mac mini gets to about 95˚ Celsius. The max speed is 4500rpm in Macs Fan Control. My old 2014 Mac mini could get up to 6500rpm with the command line SMCFanControl
@everlasting1
@everlasting1 8 ай бұрын
Indeed you can! You prompted me to poke around and I now have my M2 running at 6500 rpm, 2000 over stock maximum. It appears that the trick in the comment of using F0Mn (setting the minimum no longer works, but setting the target does. I pulled the repo from my github (github.com/EverlastEngineering/smcMaxFan), built it in xcode and in the build folder I found the smc tool and ran: sudo ./smc -k "F0Tg" -w 0020cb45 That set my max speed to 6500rpm. You can use a calculator here for the math: gregstoll.com/~gregstoll/floattohex/ Be sure to check the box for `Swap to use big-endian`.

Interestingly, there is a key called F0Dc which hits 1.0 when my fan will no longer go any faster; that must be the PWM factor for the DC voltage going to the fan.

3/4/24 Just found this video and have tried upgrading Apple Mac without much success. I have a 24" late 2006 iMac that's like new along with the Apple music remote that will magnetically stick to the lower right side of the screen , upgraded the memory to 4 megs of memory and would love to upgrade it to a newer OS beside the OS Lions you mention in Video. Like you stated in video finding a browser that will still work well in Lion including safari has its issues and not finding a browser that gives full support in 2024. What I have been wondering is since the iMac has an Intel Duel 2 processor, if I could completely just reformat the Hard Drive or run an external hard drive with Windows 7 or another OS that I could connect to a port of the iMac screen that allow booting without needing to tear down the iMac that will allow a modern browser in 2024 along with software support.

Hi Very well put together tutorial and video Personally i have 3 older macs, Ibook G4, Macbook 5 Laptop @ 2006 i think with core2duo and either 3.5 or 4g ram, Similarly i also have a Imac @2006 again the same specs core2duo and 3.5 or 4g ram The G4 runs 10.4 or 10.5, the other 2 run 10.6 What i have done with the 2 Intel machines is only replace the hdd in the laptop with a ssd as it was a simple 2 minute job, i have always thought the imac was just to complex and as it is working i dont want to break it ( i am fine with PC etc but the imac is just to fiddly for me - if i had lots of them like windows pc i would give it a go , but i dont want to damage a 1 of 1 that i have) So the Intel laptop has a ssd, i reinstalled 10.6 and all my software. I then used a boot manager rEFInd and successfully installed Linux Mint 17 as it worked ok with the strange 3 EFI set up on the intel macs Even though both of mine are core 2 duo and 64 bit cpu, the max ram is 4G, so it still only will run on 32bit OS, even on a windows machine with say 1G or 2G ram, if you have less than 4G ram you have to install 32bit OS The Mint version was not the latest, i recall booting a few ram based versions of USB to find one that works well ( installs properly ) i also came across a web page with modded iso images to suit the hybrid 32bit efi boot for the intel 64bit core 2 duo's BTW i think the original core 2 you had is 32bit only and the core2duo is the first of the hybrid ones I did triple boot both machines, but found the 2016 - 2018 version of windows 10 to run fine, however by 2020 when updates were happening they become sluggish Currently we have 3 desktops, 4 laptops as daily drivers, and the last thursday of each month all machines are set for windows 10 update and they are left alone, the modern i5/i7 / Ryzen 7 machines do handle it well - at least all machine share the update file pool from the Lenovo At todays prices, i would just buy a used 2009-2012 system, they are very cheap, for myself these macs were the first modern macs and at the time with XP and win 7 issues they were at least virus free ( i ended having user control on windows and nortons installed on the 4 pc's at home and no one had the admin password except me - things you had to do ) Actually my daily driver is a Lenovo core2duo, i purchased in new in @ 2011/2012, it is a small form factor and silent and basically runs 24/7 - it works great, the only issue being 2 cores when a windows update is happening it becomes sluggish and also on some start ups, it is busied out with hard drive indexing and defender scanning for up to 5 mins Again great video
