Hi Jamie I stumbled across your channel this evening and it’s nice to hear all your thoughts m, perspectives and experiences of the MOZ shows you’ve attended. You’re so right about the stage invaders of nowadays, it should now be left in the past as seeing middle aged wannabes waddle around on stage wanting to touch him for me is very cringe full, especially when they’re female with chrysanthemums in hand dancing round him makes me despise these type of fans. Sorry but that’s just my feelings and I apologise if I offend anyone. I live in Manchester, England where I have lived for 48 years being a huge Smiths fan from the age of about 10 being introduced to them by my older brother. I live in a Manchester suburb called Baguely we’re Jihnny Marr grew up through his teens, his family (brother, not sure about his parents) still live round the corner about 200m away. Stretford is about 4-5miles away where Morrissey lived. I could go on with various stories but I don’t want to bore you. I’ll quickly say my mum used to work with Johnny’s mother in law (Angie’s mum) over 30yrs ago, she would sometimes come round to ours with various Smiths t-shirts, vinyl singles/albums, posters from when she’d been round to Johnny’s and got various things she could from Johnny’s cellar. My brother and I were very lucky and it was lively if her to bring us so many Smiths items, many rare and collectors items. Also about 15yrs ago a guy I knew said he’d given Johnny my phone number as I worked for an electronics/ Music product distribution company and he wanted to buy some new microphones & headphones. I thought nothing of it, 2 days later sat in my car one lunchtime at work my mobile phone rang a number not recognised, I answered and a voice said Hi Stephen, it’s Johnny Marr! And asked me if I could help and advise him on various microphones and if I could get them at good prices! I could and I went round to Johnny’s house that evening. He was my guitar idol as I’ve played guitar for nearly 40yrs, for him to ring me asking for advice was very surreal. Anyway I went round to his large house and went into his home recording studio joined to the house in a massive conservatory. We ended up jamming guitar together, amazing!! I bought a guitar amp from him and we started a very nice friendship, he is one of the nicest down to earth unaffected successful musicians you could ever meet and has been the biggest and best creative musical/ guitar influences in my life and the music I write and perform with my guitar band. Anyway sorry for the long waffling message!!! Great hearing your thoughts anyway. All the best Stephen.

It’s tough to rank them but if I had to pick the four most powerful in no particular order it would be…Joshua Tree, War, POP, Achtung Baby. What is the most ambitious, stuffed with great lyrics, guitar and melodies? POP beats all of their other records. It is just a massive album with a vast sound scape stuffed with great melodies, guitar hooks etc etc.

Poor Boz. What a mauling. I can't add anything because I can't find this album anywhere. Are you sure you wasn't just having a vivid nightmare? Boz is a nice bloke and I'm sure he ,Alain,Gustavo may pop up with Moz in the future.P.S I don't care for a Smiths reunion. They're not the Smiths anymore and where's the joy in watching two guys who hate each other pretending to get along. How could you listen to Barbarism without Andy. No thanks. Moz doesn't need Marr unless it's to pull out the knives he's been popping in there for years. Just my opinion though.
@Archaicrecords76
@Archaicrecords76 3 ай бұрын
I’m in agreement with you when it comes to a possible ‘SMITHS’ reunion. No Andy Rourke, no SMITHS……No Mike Joyce, no SMITHS. I just think that it’s an interesting topic of conversation. I’ve never been one of those SMITHS fans who has pined for a reunion, even when Andy Rourke was still alive because I’ve always believed that based on the relationship between Morrissey and Marr, the only way it would come to fruition would be as a sort of cash grab. And, as you stated……where’s the joy in that? In my opinion, The Smiths were the greatest band of all time, and although they may have had a relatively brief run……they truly created magic. It’s best left where it is.

PS I LOVE Boz Boorer, the review of this album is in no way meant to be personal……it’s just not a very good record. It would bring me tremendous joy to see the classic Morrissey band back in tact one day, which is not meant as a slight to the current band, which I like also.

A Morrissey official release of more Live shows would be great! Live at Dallas from my favourite tour - Kill Uncle, would be amazing. Most bootlegs are becoming repetitive and are just tiring out gigs like Wolverhampton and overlooking the great later shows.
