Your about our age. We are doing the same thing. We are retired but work part time outside the home. But I did the same thing. I started to really taking a look at what we have. January we are doing a no buy month for our grocery bill. We are using what we have in the freezer and what we have in the pantry. Painting watch out, the paint prices and labor are outrageous get lots of quotes!😊

Peeling paint on walls in the living room is an eyesore. I realize the walls need scraped, sanded and painted. Hopefully I can persuade my husband to hire a painter in the spring. It's important to keep up with home improvement projects, and we have gotten very far behind on this one.

Our dogs (Smooch and Boo) were originally Jackie's pets. Jackie was my mother-in-law. She raised Smooch and Boo from puppies. They came to live with us when Jackie went into the nursing home. This video is dedicated to Jackie who loved her doggies, cherished her family, and enjoyed sending Christmas cards and donating to charities.

Fall/Halloween/Thanksgiving are up for so long...I still have a few pumpkins to enjoy...but I also want to get Christmas out to enjoy since Thanksgiving was late. My mother would keep the decorations up until January, as we would have friends and family visit, and she worked so hard to make a festive, fun and inviting home. Thank you for sharing! 🍂🦃🌲🎁

Hello Terry, Yes, cleaning the house can be time-consuming. We have 3 dogs. Who also love sleeping on the lounges. I generally use a flop mop on the floors. Quick and easy. SWISS CARROT CAKE: 2 cups sifted all-purpose flour, 2 teaspoons baking powder, 1 and 1/2 teaspoons baking soda, 1 teaspoon salt, 2 teaspoons cinnamon, 1 1/2 cups cooking oil, 2 cups sugar, 4 eggs, 2 cups grated carrots, 1 small can of crushed pineapple, 1 1/2 cups chopped walnuts or pecans, 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract Mix all ingredients thoroughly in large mixing bowl. Spread batter evenly in well-greased 9 x 13-inch pan and bake in preheated 350F oven for 1 hour. Cool completely before frosting.
