This is absolutely glorious animation, so fitting for such a wondrous song. It seems there is always something to hear that wasn't there before, surely? I am so happy for you that Jacob saw this and commented. Beautifully done.

This song has held me, not only my interest, for the better part of 3 years, while listening to it sometimes only a few seconds at a time in a loop. The level of detail keeps revealing itself to the listener to the point that even now, I find bits of it I feel like I never heard before or not pay enough attention, and I should have added a little something to the frame at that time. I think this is part of the genius of Jacob Collier, sometimes the song that people have overlooked for years is one of the most intricate musical lace work and finally shows its true nature while looking at what some random guy on the internet thought its music video should look like. I'm really glad you enjoyed it so! Thank you for your kind comment ^-^

This is very special to me, because it’s the first time I’ve found a piece of art that takes Jacob’s work and interprets it in a way that I think truly captures the magic of Jacob’s music, and the absolute majesty of the Djesse project, the kind that I hope to be able to capture one day. I love this video so much. Wonderful job.

Awh, thank you so much. I'm really glad it touched you so. I did find this song magical and all along the long process of making this animation, listening to the song over and over, sometimes only a few seconds at a time, I did find all the subtle magic, the queues, the little shimmer, and I felt like this had to become like a mythical magical dialog between them. The lyrics leave a lot of room for interpretation so I went with my take on what's happening. I really felt like Jacob should take off, spreading his wings on that emotional beat. Thank you so much for sharing your experience, you made my day ^^

Hello dear Luna, Thank you so much for your kind comment. It's very moving reading how special this animation feels to you. I'm really glad I got to carry it to term as it was a gruelling 3-year long battle and I'm not sure I'd ever want to do something like that again. I'm listening to Djesse vol. 4 one track a week. I'm completely overjoyed by "Bridge over Troubled Water", and the breakdown was just fantastic, but I have so much more music left to listen to. We have a facebook group "The Super-Ultra-Hyper-Mega-Meta Jacob Collier Society" where like minded people rave about all things Jacob, if you're looking for people who feel the same. Cheers!

@laeianimation Жыл бұрын
Awh, thank you so much. The thing about making it in animation is that every shot takes so much time, you listen to the music in a way no-one in their right mind ever will: by chunks of 2 to 5 seconds over a period of weeks by chunk, before moving on to the next bit; it's properly insane and I don't think many other musicians song would hold up to such scrutiny for more than 3 years! But honestly, Jacob Collier's music does. I'm still listening to this song, for fun. I'm really glad you liked the animation, thank you again for your comment!

Bro how to make dynamic hoses with bones
@laeianimation Жыл бұрын
Now that's a good question... what are your technical limitations? Is it to run in a game engine? if so I don't think its very different to any other rigging. Or do you want a simulated motion of the hose? but using bones? I'm curious now!
@Team_rk288 Жыл бұрын
@@laeianimation I made a project like Offshore spm animation for hoses and crane I started with max some of points I stuck then I finished that project with help of blender also blender is soo easy but I like max but some time I stuck can you do a Offshore hose animation like real world dinamic simulation with ocena and hose and crane
@laeianimation Жыл бұрын
@Loading, I think there is two different problems in you idea... I found that when I do something and I want it to look like the real world I get into complicated territories like "making realistic simulated waves". But then I try to cut the problem into smaller parts : - The waves on the one hand you can do with a simple deformation helper called wave or ripple, and the rest of the complexity can be a displacement shader -- then your deformation helper can move the water surface as well as either directly your hose mesh or a spline that you can use as a bone object (just apply a skin to the hose mesh, as a modifier, then use a spline as a bone and that should do the trick) - On the other hand you have the rest of the motion floating on the surface, that can be a maxscript or just a projection controler. - and finally the crane is some rigging. This guy as awesome rigging tutorials for mechanical systems: www.youtube.com/@larsem8 If you need all of it to be procedural, this may be really slow in the end and not very usable. Houdini or Blender may be a lot more stable with a fully procedural system like this one I think. If you have more questions, please, find me on Discord!

Thank you so much, I'm really glad you got so excited by this project. Unfortunately, making one of these took 3 years of full time work, and I do not have it in me to do that again. It was utter madness to even attempt making one, and Covid time had more than a little to do with the fact that I felt it was okay to keep on working on it. But it is a personal time and financial investment that I just cannot afford a second time. "You and I" wouldn't have been on my short list, even though it is a lovely song, I really need a story to start off of. ^-^
