I know you put this out years ago, but I wanted to say thank you for this series. I just moved back out to the family farm to help my elderly parents. It’s about 200 acres to cover with bordering woodlands. I’ve lived as a hunter, I’ve worked outside most of my life, I’ve been a firefighter (wildland and in town) and know this land. What I haven’t been is military. As such, I appreciate a former soldier and realistic citizen’s perspective on this topic. Thanks again.

I didn't get to follow up with this like I wanted to. I do have some more recent videos on the topic out. Also have some more planned.

Each item has a stock value for both warehouses. Pay attention to which warehouse each item is in stock at as they will generate seperate shipping fees if you order items that are not all available at one of their two warehouses. Also things that ship from distributors are going to ship separately and each such listing has clear wording that it ships directly from the distributor. ASW is doing great work supplying equipment to lots of people that would otherwise have great difficulty getting it. Given what I know about this, I would pay more to buy from ASW as long as they have the stuff I want. If I want something they don't carry I will make a separate order for those specialty items. Wait till you see the final calculated total with shipping before comparing the price to other options, you may be surprised. ASW is GTG 👌

If anyone isn't a fan of the magnetic tail switch and just wants more brightness and battery life, you might want to know that the v3.0 head works with older v2.0 body. I am not sure wheather it retains its waterproofness since the threading is a bit shorter than on the older version, but it's still nice it's backwards compatible.

I feel that on the v3 of this light, Fenix took two steps forward and one step back. I like the magnetic tailcap, metal switch, and the slight increase in brightness, but for some reason all the beamshots I've seen of this look too yellow. Also I think the memory function is a negative. Having the v2 always come on in low was nice because you didn't accidentally blast your night vision if you were last using it on high. Finally, it would also be nice to have a bit lower low, like 1-2 lumens. BTW, you don't have to defend your lack of need for more than 200 lumens.....you're free to like the flashlight you want in this country! :-)

My question is were is there a spot for a pistol, i dont wanna wear a crotch rot thigh rig but i dont wanna remove pouches. Ive have a habit of wanting to mount a pistol holster on my hip. Im not military but i worked in private security and run my security belt in the a.l.i.c.e./lbe format

When I first started looking up PAPR systems what came up was multi-thousand dollar 3M systems. I'm sure they work real well, but this is far more affordable. My thought was to get this setup for biking on days when the winds start blowing wildfire smoke across the area. Maybe I'd look a little funny, but breathing is nice.

Great review. I've been a big fan of Cross Fire as well starting with a DG-3, then picking up a DG-1. I use them for backpacking, hiking and snowboarding more than tactical purposes. There are some great features on the CF-1. It looks like the may have taken some design elements from the AWS assault pack with is great. I wish the AWS pack was made out of a little more heavy duty material, had some wider shoulder straps and hip belt. What's your thoughts on removing the slit pocket off behind the side pouch on the DG-1? I find it useful for a folding saw or to hold a hatchet, etc. Any chance the yoke harness on the CF-1 can adapt to a DG-1? Keep the awesome videos coming. -Kyle

You’ve never lived until you’ve been living in a hole for three days, it’s been raining for two days then someone steps on your poncho and it feels like 100 gallons of water and mud pours down on you. Man, I seriously do not miss that at all! Water, water, water…..we always need to talk about water. Thanks for mentioning it!
