If royal or someone rich enough has the money to command customer made, either a tiara or dress, it would definitely be UNIQUE - so there would not duplicate allowed then, this one would not be a copy either now.

Tiaras where often sold discreatly both from Nobel and royals. Its not strange that it ends up in other countries and you can still see it. Some We Will never see again. Both because buyer Keep low profil But some are dismantled.

I am not too crazy about the brooches these royal ladies attached to this tiara to make it bigger. I think they certainly can attach other precious stone to the top or even better, they should add beautiful pearls just like the late Queen Mary did.

WOWOW........This is very interesting; the minute I saw this video my mind went to work so I can only conclude that most likely this Queen Mary's tiara/bandeau was sold off by Princess Margaret who looked like she was the one who inherited it and wore it before her wedding. I have this feeling most like she traded this tiara for the Poltimore tiara which was grander and definitely paid the difference for the cost. It looks like the Queen of Bahang does not know the tiara's white wire frame was meant for the late Queen Mary's grey/white hair and as you all can see the late Princess Margaret wore it without the wire white frame. Anyhoo, it is great to know this Queen Mary's tiara/bandeau is at a good place where other royal ladies are able to wear it and enjoy it accordingly.

It wasnt lost. It was sold off. The beautiful and kind Sultanah of Pahang (was Queen of Malaysia for 5 years as part of their unique rotation system) is half-English anyway. Why cant her daughter wear it to school. They dont have the same rules as the English. The more its worn the better.

When QEII came to the throne she had several pieces sold off namely the amethyst parure that Queen Mary wore. As pieces were sold quietly we may never know the extent of the sale.

I don’t think it was Margaret that sold the tiara, but her children trying to pay the inheritance tax, after she died.

When world war 1 broke out she’s squirrel away many jewels, then WW2 she had to do it again so im sure there is many missing other pieces. I have a feeling the Malaysian one could be a twin. There are quite a few family’s of Europe with the same design. But if it is Mary’s, lucky find.

Its the same tiara, not a twin. Tiaras are hand made so they are never perfect. You can easily tell them from the imperfections. The last slide with the historical photo on the side confirms it.

It will indeed be sad if the pomp and ceremony and glitter of the State Opening of Parliament is reduced even more if the new Government get their will through. The picture of the King holding the Queen’s hand is very sweet. Her Majesty dresses so elegantly with beautiful colors and fabrics. Asian textiles are amazingly beautiful…love the patterns. I wish the fashion industry in the west would use more of them.

Yeah the sparkle is def gone. I felt the same way about the coronation- certain things shouldn’t be watered down. The no tiara rule and the lack of peers and peeresses really emphasized to me that with the death of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, a lot of the magic was gone.

Thank you very much for the closeups of the State Opening of Parliament. I am so glad that the full pomp and elegance was sustained for this event and so many others. There's a reason why the British monarchy are premiere in the world. I hope that the tiaras, jewels and gowns/uniforms continue.

Such a shame that the Empress nor the Duchess of Edinburgh were unable to attend the banquet hosted at the Guildhall on the second day. It is such a magnificent event steeped in tradition and splendour and it is one of the very few still existing tiara events on the second day of a State Visit in this day and age.

The diamonds on the necklace of Empress Masako are bigger, much whiter and with more sparkle as compared to Queen Camila's. The whole set suppose to be 3 strands but the empress used 2 strands here. Japanese are fond of luxury and known to use only the highest quality when comes to jewelry.
