But who is not reading the labels? I spent more than 2h in pet food shop to read, research and analyze all available packages before choosing kibbles. And it's not difficult to find good ones. I still don't like the idea of kibbles, but it is still possible to find good ones, at least according to the label. I'm not paying attention to my own nutrition and switching to raw diet for my dog is difficult for me, because I would need to prepare balanced meals all the time. It requires so much discipline, time and effort to buy those ingredients, keep them fresh, prep and serve them. I didn't know having pets is this difficult. Thinking about it, a lot people I know is not paying that much attention to their kids nutrition as well, and they're still managing. I'm not happy with the fact that I should put that much effort into feeding my dog

Not one of these dog’s situations would have been helped with micro-chipping. Micro-chipping is an additional cost for the owners that does nothing for the dog’s health or quality of life!

That "nanny dog" thing, was lie created by a pit bull breeder by the name of Lillian V. Rant. She wrote in a dog magazine “The Staffordshire Bull Terrier Club” an article back in 1971. Then 10 years later in 1981 Lillian Rant wrote a book “Staffordshire Bull Terriers (Owner’s Companion)” that referenced her 1971 magazine article. To drum up her business and to bred more pit bull to sell. It was about making money and nothing about the truth and safety. Before that, the only reference to a nanny dog was in play Peter Pan in 1904 and the dog was a "nanny dog" which was a fictional newfoundland dog named Nana, that was actually a man dressed in a dog costume.

The audacity of evil AHs to even think of bribing pet parents to silence them after making them accidentally poison their own pets, who to many people are like their own kids. Do animals not matter? What if you change those scenarios to human kids instead? Good on these owners for standing their ground. Somebody should've been in jail for a long time or they'll never GAF & will keep making money over animals' deaths. Also I'm not really convinced about the raw diet recommendations. Comparing them to poop isn't a very fair comparison since dogs don't eat poop as their staple & the pathogens in raw diets aren't exactly the same as the bacteria in poop. And I'm sure some dogs must've got sick from consuming poop as well, if it contains harmful bacteria. People should check out Professor Andrew Knight's works as well. Dogs can totally thrive on nutritionally complete & balanced PB diets (& even cats too many times, though I know maybe not all of the cases since they're "more carnivorous" than dogs & it's harder for them to transition). Carbohydrates aren't the root causes of overweight & diabetes in pets (& even humans). Grains are fine as long as they're organic, not laden with hazardous chemicals & the foods are well-formulated to be nutritionally sound.
