@@PurpleHatGames1 I got this from Engima custom cases here is Australia but I am now finding sellers on AliExpress that are selling big box Saturn repros that may be a cheaper option especially if your in the UK

Wonder Boy in Monsterland is my favorite (Wonder Boy 2). The original SMS library is great but the backwards ported Genesis ports weren't handled well by the SMS. Stick with Wonderboy, Zillion, Alien Syndrome, Enduro Racer, Golden Axe Warrior, Phantasy Star.... ect👍

This is a really good video featuring some really good game choices. The Master System library has so many absolute bangers in it that you could do a follow up with some of the shoot-em-ups, sports games, arcade ports and movie tie-ins as there are some real gems amongst them. I love the system and its library so it’s always good to see it get more coverage on KZbin. Great stuff!

You showed Fantasy Zone 1 not 2. In 2 you have a life bar. But great selection, i still regulary play through Castle of illusion, Psycho Fox, Sonic 1, Asterix and Lucky Dime Caper and Smurfs on my MS1 and try to beat Shinobi one day. With its awesome RGB video out it still looks great on TVs with Scart input.

I had completed 15 games of the list back in the days. I've rented and played most of others and the remaining one were played using emulation. Nice list.

Isn't Wonder Boy the same thing as Adventure Island?

The original Wonder Boy arcade game was developed by Escape, under contract with Sega. Escape owned the copyright for the game itself, but Sega owned the name and characters. Therefore Escape had the rights to license the game to Hudson for home console ports, but Hudson had to come up with a new name and protagonist for their version. Therefore, both games were completely legit, despite being nearly identical games by different developers and publishers.

So many greats here.😮 Games I enjoyed like Aladdin, Fantasy Zone. Games I NEED to play like Asterix, GA Warrior, and Master of Darkness. Games I forget about, like the SoR series. Or ones I didn't know of, like Ninja Gaiden. Also, fun fact, Joe Musashi is totally the fake name I use to check into hotels with. 😂 j/k

Spot on points here Ken. We become absolute Sony ponies when it comes to a deep and gorgeous single player and storied experience. These are what often deliver precisely what we look for in gaming.

Phantasy Star on Switch was fun. The changes made by M2 made it more accessible in 2024.

Great list and I'll have to try Tazmania soon. The 16-bit version is really difficult IMO. Mercs had a fun Master System port...

Happy New Year, Ken. I hope you and your family had a great Christmas. The Master System was a great system but has become quite expensive to collect for over here in the UK. I've gone down the emulator route to play these games. Phantasy Star was one of my favourites.

Spirit tracks is too looked over by the Zelda community especially when they rank “best Zelda’s” so many people complain that she isn’t a companion ever and never play the one game where she is your companion.

I kid you not when I tell you I was so engrossed by this game that I beat it in a little over one day. Started in the morning and finished around 3am the next day.

The fact that there are bad actors in the environment is a result of nothing but those bad actors. It is not blizzard's fault that a group of people are exploiting a system against it's TOS to make money off of. Let's hold the actors responsible not the construction workers that built the platform where those actions take place.

While I enjoyed the first-person 3D perspective of the dungeons, I constantly got lost. lol Still, such a cool and gorgeous game. I always enjoyed the added touch of the enemy animations upon attacking.

Awesome review! Best 8-bit RPG by far! I'm usually not big into RPG but I love the Phantasy Star universe and the first game is just perfect in my opinion. Soundtrack, graphics, story, lore, gameplay, ... Everything is top notch.

Another great guide Ken. The switch is a great system, but one I haven't put a lot of effort into. I need to work on building my collection for the switch. Videos like this really help me out.

So many excellent suggestions here, from Mario to Zelda, Peach and Kirby, that I can totally second! I still need to get into Metroid Dread. I'd love to pull Lady Laci away from her Disney game for some TMNT co-op. So happy to be able to play LM2 and NOT on handheld.😅 Also, I liked that you put some focus on games for younger audiences too. Nicely done!
