Thanks for watching! I use aseprite, bought it from the steam store, it's one of, if not the best pixel art tool and it's priced pretty well

The flowers are fsr too small, the coloring feels a bit duller than what plok was going for, plok himself looks like he was shrunk improperly, and the camera is zoomed too far out, as well as the bosses feeling too skinny. But from a gameplay standard, spot-on. Ur def on the path to get gud.

Something I noticed is the stairs only feel weird when you walk on them. When you jump on them, they act as 3 separate platforms. You can use this for mobility. Try it!

It's a SNES cartridge of plok, since there are no lives in my remake I replaced the PLOK continue letters with a cartridge per level to find with the intention of maybe using them to buy new characters or levels later on

u should make plok's movement slower, hitbox smaller, also make the camera not constantly move so smoothly, and have the jump slightly shorter, hope i helped

I've seen a few of your videos which are interesting to me both as a solo hobby developer and a lifelong Plok fan. I have a question and (if I may) a small suggestion. The question is simply: Have you shown this to either of the Pickford brothers? I'd like to think that they'd appreciate and embrace this project, but they'd be well-justified in being miffed about it if you started without their blessings. My suggestion is for a slight tweak to your Plok sprite. The protruding section of his head that appears in front of his eyeballs looks strange to me. I feel like that entire column of red pixels (and the black outline along it) could be removed. It's hard to explain, so I hope that makes sense. Anyway, I'll look forward to seeing this thing progress. It's really cool to see Plok with a different look.

Hey thanks for watching! As far as I'm aware the Pickford's aren't aware of this project, I was initially concerned they'd shut it down straight away despite it not being intended for release, though after seeing other people in the discord talk to them they may react better. As for PLOK I think I know which set of pixels you're referring to, sort of to make his head look more turned to the side by removing the red one side of his eyes

Yes, those are the ones I'm referring to. I think they make his head look boxy. You could achieve the effect you're going for by making his nearest eye a little larger than the one that's further away. As for the Pickford brothers, I would definitely reach out to them to see how they feel about it, especially since you're using the sounds and music from their game. They may ask you to stop it or just to keep it as a private, personal project. I have no idea. You've already put an enormous amount of work into this, and it would be a shame to put in even more (to finish it) only to later find that they don't approve.
