Geez, what tip are you useing on that gun? And how much paint actually went on? I dont go that slow with even a 410 fine finish tip. And backrolling really helps push the paint into the substrate and seal the surface for adhesion not just holdback of top coats.

Hi I'm about to lay my cement board but I'm so confused on adhesive to use Some people & say don't use glue, some say just use liquid nails Videos say use Thinset but nobody knows what i'm talking about So what brand name did you use please? Is Thinset the same as tile adhesive, just thinner layer? Thanks
@CryptikStudios Жыл бұрын
Gyprock Stud Adhesive it’s called. Mostly used for plastering walls. Stud adhesive replaces nails (mostly) when plastering walls or ceilings. I’ve never seen it used for tile underlay sheeting, but that shit is insanely robust on any material, but I would say to use it in addition to nails is an awesome idea!
@extremetasks4 ай бұрын
If it's going onto hardwood floor , no glue is needed , just nails. Ply or particle board you must use dabs of stud adhesive at 150 centres plus nails
@hollandparkhouse4 ай бұрын
You can actually download all the manuals for free from most suppliers and the manufacturers will have their recommended fasteners and fixing methods to follow depending on your application

Hey mate I’m confused why the perimeter channel all the way around? I realise on 2 opposing sides it supports the metal battens but can you fix the plasterboard into the perimeter channel on the sides running parallel with the battens ? Cheers and great work.
@hollandparkhouse2 жыл бұрын
Hey mate, yeah as you say could probably ditch the perimeter channels and just slide the battens out a bit further towards the walls. Rather than fixing into the perimetre track on the edge, you can screw into the battens which I think gave a better bite. I actually ended up doing this in other sections of the house after learning this system.
@Graters19892 жыл бұрын
@@hollandparkhouse thanks. Yea it’s weird in the manuals they show track on all 4 sides but seems like you could just put battens within 200 of wall edge to be on spec. Heck I’ll prob do all 4 permiter anyway as going to square set ceilings so maybe this will help.
@hollandparkhouse2 жыл бұрын
@@Graters1989 I am doing a 90mm cove cornice so didn't need to worry about junction movement from wall to ceiling like you will with a square set.
