Just ordered a 35mm 1.8 and didn’t read description has some internal dust on rear does this lens come apart same way?
@MLJ74242 жыл бұрын
I have always heard you should never use forced/ compressed air you should get a Rocket air squeezer and turn the lens upside down and let the dust fall out
@Hysell2 жыл бұрын
I do recommend that, however I used filtered air... Standard compressor air can blow rust, oil and water. I think that's why it's not recommended.

Thanks for posting. Do you think 2 x SSDs would be a significant increase
@Hysell4 жыл бұрын
you will see an increase but it won't be massive. The SSD's won't get a speed benefit of being set up in raid in this enclosure. There are other bottlenecks that will prevent full speeds. Its worth it if you have 2 SSD's sitting around but I would invest in a better enclosure if you require SSD's to be set up in raid.
@ingra8884 жыл бұрын
with all Lacie drives always take the base stand off first, as there are allows two screws allocated in the fin ducts same as the D2 Quadra. i would also change both drives to SSD to match, guarenteed the traditional laptop drives would fail at some point.

But how it gets inside. I have dust on rear element for my nikkor 105 f2 d. Can i clean it the Same way.
@Hysell4 жыл бұрын
The 105 is built very differently. It's not hard but you'll probably have to remove the full base to get inside that lens. I would practice on a random cheap lens with fungus from eBay if you're not comfortable yet.

loved this video but I would like to know if it is feasible to read the drives as my LB Disk unit whirls around and blue light comes on but it is not showing on Disk Utility and I have updated the Disk Manager LacIe but as soon as I plug thunderbolt cable the unit starts up and disks are clearly spinning but not showing and I originally installed the unit without formatting so it will be in default that I think is Raid O but would I need expensive software to read disks once I put them in an external disk mounter that I have used for other SSD and bigger older drives? I wandered if there was some free open mac source software if I need to use it on a couple of raid drives that I expect to find as I don't know anything about Raid other than the data links between the two somehow?

what's the space limit for the disk? I have on mind 2x4tb... 8tb... Can I do?

O notice there are 2 HD inside. Could I change both to SSD?
@Hysell5 жыл бұрын
Yes. Very easily. However the speed will be limited. It will be fast but not as fast as an internal SSD
@resumacast5 жыл бұрын
Christopher Hysell thank mate. I was wandering if there is 2 ssd and turning itself into a raid 0 and run my editing with final cut from it.
@Hysell5 жыл бұрын
@@resumacast if you can afford it, I would buy a used promise pegasus on eBay. I pick up R6's for less than $300. You'll have much faster speeds as well as having extra protection on your data. That's what I use for all my final cut pro projects.

I have done this and can confirm its very easy, however *WARNING* NEVER USE CANNED AIR, EVER ON A CAMERA OR LENS!!! Only use a rocket blower!
@Hysell5 жыл бұрын
Im glad you were able to clean your rear element. I agree with not using canned air. In my video you can hear something that sounds like canned air, however it was actually a small air compressor with a moisture filter, pressure regulator and some type of low micron filter. Its not the most Koser way to de-dust a lens but ive never had issues with using it. And when you take a lens 100% appart and then reassemble it, rocket blowers start to cramp your hand after a short awhile.........Anyway congrats on cleaning your own lens.

Chris, you able to share any tips for settings with this lens? F stop you typically stay at? Are you keeping shutter speed at double the frame rate? Do you leave iso to Auto or adjust for each room?
@Hysell5 жыл бұрын
I've changed and fined tuned a lot since this video was made. However, I always keep my frame rate at double unless the home's lighting is messing with image quality. Sometimes I'm forced to increase or lower frame rate if lighting is causing flickering on my screen. When I don't bring my own lighting I always shoot with a wide open F stop while indoors. NEVER USE AUTO ISO, adjust it per room... Oh and I really dislike the cannon 10-18 now. I use a Tamron 11-16 on my crop sensor camera so that I can have faster f-stop and lower ISO. If you're thinking about going full frame in the near future buy a Zeiss or Laowa super wide for filming houses.
@LifeAsDane5 жыл бұрын
@@Hysell Really appreciate the quick replay Chris. Yes our workflows/techniques/settings always changing and it's funny to go back and watch the evolution of our products (sometimes cringe-worthy haha). Really funny you mention the Tamron/Tokina 11-16 because lately I've gotten a little bored/frustrated with the 10-18mm thinking there has to be a better lens for my 80d crop and that was really the only competitor I could find. Just so many review videos seem to go back to the Canon cause of weight and the STM (I'm not concerned about the focus noise with video). BUT having a f/2.8 sounds nice, love it on my canon 24mm. Thanks again.
