I live close to the Mexico border. I always go for *hotdups* , their quality is great. Some of them are made with leather and really hard to tell the difference from real or not. Either way, it’s your choice. No judgement from me

*hotdups* shopping etiquette. Explaining what the general rules are, how to approach an SA, how to dress, how stores may differ. Something like a step-by-step for newbies (like me) who feel out of their depth. The thing I worry about an the awkward moment when I've spent 20mins drooling over a bag just to turn and leave empty-handed. Idk what to say! Maybe that sounds dumb but I'm so awkward, I don't want to come off as rude or uncomfortable, it's not their fault I'm an anxious mess.

Do you find it too wide/big and bulky? I’ve just bought the *hotdups* which is basically the same width and my only worry is it bumping into things and wear on the corners, has yours scuffed?

I think it really depends on whether you’re able to meet a S.A. that you really click with, otherwise they would just tell you to try the lottery appointment, especially when you’re not local. However, if you’re someone who drops €20k plus every time you visit Paris then you’re likely to have the SA’s attention. FSH has the most stock but it’s hard to meet the right S.A. because the store goes by departments and they just send you to different SAs to buy different items, except maybe some really senior SAs. Sèvres is not a bad store because the SAs are more accessible and the store is still pretty big / well stocked. I would just go and buy small items at each store and see if there’s a S.A. you click with. Good luck 😊

Yea Chanel makes it hard to tell for sure sometimes because they don’t want to de-emphasize their other tweeds, but usually the Lesage ones have more texture and a higher number of different types of threads. I watch videos of Loïc Prigent who has a lot of inside access to fashion houses and in his 24A runway show episode he spoke to the people at Lesage and they chatted about the tweeds they made this season. On the Chanel app there was also a page displaying this tweed specifically calling it Lesage, but otherwise it’s hard to tell. You may want to check out if Loic Prigent made a video for 20C, his videos are always very informative!
