Color perception isn’t a creative trait-it’s an evolutionary adaptation. We haven’t developed more sensitivity (or words) for shades of green because green is nature’s backdrop, and doesn't usually signal of danger or reward. Our eyes evolved to detect contrast and anomalies, that’s why we have more linguistic and perceptual distinctions for some narrow hues that stand out against the environment and signal something potentially important (such as orange = fire)

Thanks! This is pretty much the kind of review I needed. I'll get to shelf my newly acquired knowledge about the surface pro processors and save some buck :)

I use an anime style, and my character has the skin color of the girl on the right. Aka, „disappear into shadows“ skin. Getting that to look good is such a mess. Guess I‘ll have to finally do some highlights, just to give her SOME definition. Damn you, dark skin. Y u so pretty, y u so hard to pull off? >:\ I‘ll get there, eventually. Thank you for giving me these pointers, they were sorely needed. This goes on my art playlist. 🙏

In a weird way, what I'm taking from this is that I shouldn't sweat the details, but focus on the details, and that so far I've made my own sketches too simple, but I need to focus more on details. It's weird, but it makes sense... somehow...

I've been struggling with this issue for a long time now: I've noticed many digital artists who have more of a 'painting' approach don't use layers the same way as an artist who simply works with sketching > lineart > flat color > shading etc. like me. Everytime I try out digital painting instead of a simplified cartoonish approach (my pfp for example) I can't seem to figure out how to use the layers practically. I am used to seperate every single color I use per layer, but I see many artists use multiple colors on the same layer. My question is, how do you fix any coloring mistakes? I usually change the hue, saturation because I have every single color seperated, but how do you fix this when all your base colors for example, are on the same layer without messing things up? English is not my main language, so I hope my question isn't too confusing lol. I hope I'll eventually grow out of this problem, because it seems to block my improvement and growth as an artist and I don't wanna keep stuck with the same cartoonish art style forever. Great video!

Even in drawing on paper - although much harder to avoid lines - the best results come from breaking down pictures into shapes. It's amazing how much simpler any form of visual art can be by following geometry. This was a fun video! Granted, any attempts I'd make to look as effortless as these examples will probably result in looking just slightly more artistic than the pool of cat puke I've cleaned up recently, but it's a solid foundation to build on. Thank you!

That’s interesting, I’ve always sprinkled in theory throughout my guitar journey and somedays, I relax just doing fundamentals but definitely would’ve hated it when I started 10 or so years ago. Just started painting though!

I took the silhouette and drew over it in what I saw which was an ibex with its horns, we mixed in a roe dear later had them wearing some shoulder armour and mechical body modifications for their legs, I definitely saw a torse and head of a person unsure of how I would fit their legs in I realised they were a puppet which looked kind of goofey like a puppet from a children's tv show with the round opening mouth and clothe eyes, I made them wearing a boble hat with a scarf and shirt, they look quite silly the pair of them (it's not very well polished I kind of just scribbled in colour what I saw lol)

To anyone reading this, there is a loving God who wants to save you. And because He loves us, He (Jesus) died on the cross and resurrected 3 days later so we can be forgiven of our sins and be saved. Repent and believe the Gospel! Please consider the state of your soul and don't let this chance pass you by. Believe in Jesus and follow Him so you can have salvation. Life is short, please make the right choice today before its too late. Jesus loves you.
