I had a spider decorator crab for a few years, it hiched in on a coral plug. They're truly fascinating to watch as they glue all kinds of things to their bodies. Fortunately it never bothered my corals but I've heard some of them can do some real damage.

Where do you park? On the beach side or across the street? Or do you drop of your craft across the road (by intracoastal) then park in the official MacArthur Beach State Park on the beach side? Thanks.

Hi Shawn, planning to go snorkeling in the area. How do we know the water is cleared up? this is really beautiful

Hi and thanks for watching. Generally the water is best in the summer (more consistent). The water has been awful for a while now.. hoping to get better days soon. any wave action and it stirs up the fine sediments in the area of coral cove... it is better to go south county when its like that (Blue Heron is a good choice at high tide.

Growing up in Hollywood, Florida, my first spearfishing was done at those jacks in 1968/1969. My first visit to the jacks was in a boat at the outer point of the jacks. Most of the rest of the visits were from the beach. We used to have to walk up from the pier, (no walkways yet), to start from the beach. Some days were so full of marine life, it was amazing.

Just got back from that trip. I thought I was the only one that had that INSANE boat entry.

Hey I absolutely loved this video. I'm used to snorkeling/diving at Blue Heron, which has a more predictable tide table, does this area have something similar? Or are you just hoping for the best when you go? Thanks again, love your content!

Wow - what fantastic timing! We are in Montana and heading to this park in the next few days! Sadly, I didn't even know anything about this park until a few days ago. We are driving to Maine and we never quite know our route, so I have done zero research until we decided to go thru ND instead of SD (did that last year). Very cool - looking forward to our visit! Then I don't know where we are going... ha ha!

Impressed you knew the difference between a Queen Angel and Townsend Angel. Also, Black Angels are often mis labeled as French Angels in many videos.

You're an amazing teacher. I went to the school you teach at class of '91. My daughter Catherine graduated this year from the same school. You were one of her teachers, her favorite actually. The experiences at munyon island, hands on with your aquariums, and your classes are a lot of what made her continue her education as a student at USF studying to be a veterinarian! I really didn't get to say thank you for your positive influence, as I only met you at her awards dinner. So Thank You. I see how much you enjoy the ocean and Florida every time her and I camped on Peanut island, she was proud to know so many things about the area. Keep up the good work, you're a huge influence on the kids you teach and I'm glad she was in your classes.

thank you for your videos. They are really helpful for planning my trip. On your videos the sky does always look cloudy. Is it because of the video or was the weather like that?
