Vlog#1: teaching in a pandemic
Like everyone else, teachers were thrown a real curve ball in the spring of 2020 as COVID-19 spread. Starting in mid-March, I was forced to teach virtually, and change many of the ways I go about my job. I decided to embrace the change and begin a more regular vlog series on my KZbin channel. I have been a marine and environmental science educator for over 20 years. Between aquariums and specimen samples, most of my teaching resources were always at school until COVID struck. Now I have the opportunity to share all of this with my channel and my students virtually.

It's amazing how hobbies blend into work when your a teacher. I just filmed my first virtual lab for school. I would never have had the skills if it wasn't for KZbin as platform to practice and experiment.

Impressive job teaching! I didn’t know you were a teacher & now your other (older) videos make sense! So on top of being a teacher, you have to be a designer, an internet specialist and about a hundred other things. I know several teachers and wow - I feel for you all. Other than keeping customers outside, wearing a mask & sanitizing constantly my job at the marina / boat yard hasn’t changed very much. Good luck!

Thanks! It has changed the way I do my job, but opens up other opportunities. Hopefully I'll have more marine science content soon :-)
