Excuse my how would an astabel mode 555time duty cikel by controled if the trigger uses an inductor like pick up coil can the trigger path by modified?

Could you please give advice how possibly I could change trigger frequency of an MC 3334 ic chip that thing is used on an GM 4 pin ignition module it uses an pick up coil around 1.35 Henry I have lots of those modules and pick up coils .So I do not know what to do what value to use.I have reali hard time starting my engine when it's cold so I tough maybe an phase shifter would work .So I hoppe you can help my understand what estimate values of components what should I use ? So I'm not Shure I believe my GM module works at around minimum 2-3 volts AC at 5stages the timer is controlled supposedly speed ratio for engine the frequency minimum is at 33hrz up to max 333hrz so any suggestions please ?Originally I thought perhaps there is some thing that I can put in between pick up coil and to module to gain that litel phase shift it's around 20-30° angel degree control of IC chip.I did notice my GM module does not have any zener diode would that make significant problem? I did thought perhaps I should use separate battery for the module to not run in to problems so I hoppe for some sugestions about ignition coil module control methods.

Terrific clip. I learned and passed on more information from this. It really gave me good direction as to how to modify and what not to do. Hopefully not going to see what a cap explosion looks like lol.

Thank you. I hace trouble with variable resistor symbols in schematics. Theres tons of circuits Id like to build but avoid because Im unclear on the v.r. direction. This helped.

The other 555 timers make one or two good points before they lose me, so I watch many to figure this chip out. Skinny's video is the most understandable out there, step by step I learned more from his than any other. Keep up the good work!

The capacitors will never be reverse charged more than a few tenths of a Volt. Hook up a multimeter and check it for yourself. If they were to be reverse charged to 8 Volts, they would probably be destroyed and possibly explode if they are electrolytics.

Is there a way to use this method if you want to connect a phone device to a computer to upload or download the data files where it depends on a landline dialup but you don't have a POTS landline? How would you get the 2 sides to handshake if you don't use a telephone number or a dial out/answer procedure?

It's not needed in this setup. You can do the same with just a couple of handsets If you want to dial a number to make the other phone ring you can use a phone line simulator we had some where I work. You program a phone number in and when you hook up the two phones you can call each phone. The phones can ring if you make a call to the other phone. 73

@@realSamAndrew if you are talking about phone line simulators. They are a phone system in a box. They can be programmed to a phone number and some have four lines I used two lines for express net a rate and bookkeeping program . But if you have 4 phone lines you can set up each phone to. Number you can pick either 3,4 ,7 or ten digits I haven't tried a country code. For intercom it's best to use 3 or 4 digits . 73

for your LED "ringer", you could use an optocoupler and some arduinos or PIC chips to do some fun things. I like a good analog solution better, tho.

"Dial tones" are not the tones you get when you push a button on the phone. You mean "touch tones" or DTMF. A dial tone is only provided by the phone company or a special system.

Seems to me that you could turn off the TCP/IP stack with a card in promiscuous mode. Been a whiles since I had to use something like this. Will probably need to turn off any file sharing types services that might create UDP port announcement messaging.

I needed a 1uF capacitor bridging CVV to GND to prevent overshooting at the start of the cycle. With a 12V input, max voltage was 20V.

Other than the isolating aspect of isolated gate drivers, is there any advantage in using a gate driver between a MOSFET and a 555?

Thank you. I'm surprised I understand the part of the video explaining the constants 0.693 and .05 is because of the 3V and 6 V concept. I'm really weak with algebraic manipulation. I have to use examples (like you showed) and then write simple spreadsheets to do my math.
