Great idea for set up! It took me a lot of years to realize the effect of waking into chaotic environments has on my. I can’t help but think of how helpful this ALSO is for those young students who feel the same but don’t have the ability to verbalize this.
@TeachersMakingTheBasicsFun4 күн бұрын
Great insight. Some kids can deal with chaos but most of us benefit from calm, structure and routine. It equates to security.

What if you are lining them up in a different location, such as in the cafeteria? Would they just have to memorize their numbers and their order?
@TeachersMakingTheBasicsFun14 күн бұрын
After awhile they do know the order. It’s harder to line up without the visual marks but they can do it. Or they can just line up. But that requires practice too.

PLS. I need HELP!!!! 😢 I am new Teacher in Kindergarten and this is my 2nd week in the class. Today 2 student in KG 2 fight and hit each other with the teddy bear they holding and one pull the other hair,,, no scratch or bruise just one kid cry and one teacher report it to the school councelor so the councelor talk to me. Not a problem but I get surprise how they make it a big deal like, its kindergarten and for me sometimes kids fight and its normal..
@TeachersMakingTheBasicsFunАй бұрын
Kids definitely do “just fight” sometimes. I agree. This is my opinion- First step is always letting parents know. Then if you see a pattern and/or the fight gets uncommonly violent then definitely parents and counselors and other help should help support the child. I think sometimes people overreact and then that sets the kid up for getting negative attention and then a label as a “troubled “ kid.

I really would like the early finisher solution but it seems like a scam. The page it takes you to, isn't tpt and it isn't really asking you to sign up for anything and there isn't a paypal option. Can I locate and purchase it somewhere else?
@TeachersMakingTheBasicsFunАй бұрын
Good question. I don't sell it on TpT. Although, there are a few games from EFS in my TpT store. The link here in the description sends you to the page that explains more about The Early Finisher Solution and provides a few different buttons to go to the purchase page. I have just fixed that link. It was broken so thanks for your question because it lead me to fixing the link. Anyway, the way its set up you put in your email then it brings you to the purchase page. There are two ways to purchase, Credit Card and Google Pay. I will try to add others at another time. Thanks for your question.

What about the children who throw the toys everywhere?
@TeachersMakingTheBasicsFunАй бұрын
How old are the children?
@AquabatsarecoolАй бұрын
I'm not the poster who asked this question, but, I have a student that throws board game pieces, he is a 2nd grader
@TeachersMakingTheBasicsFunАй бұрын
The struggle is real. When I had kids throwing things my first instinct is to remove them from the game. It's not a bad temporary solution. But eventually you have to deal with the behavior. Are they a difficult student? Do they do other naughty things? Do you think they are trying to get attention? Do you think the task is too hard so they are frustrated and don't want to show that they are struggling? Maybe too easy but actually kids don't usually throw stuff when they are "bored" in my experience anyway. My guess is they have other issues you deal with with them. They might be a kid that gets one chance at a game and then if something flies into the air they have an alternative assignment that is not "fun". All of this you have set up before hand and talked with them extensively about. They do X you do Y. And then you do it. No emotion. It was the deal. Then let them know the next day they will get another chance. "Hey, we all make mistakes but we don't keep making them. It will be a big bummer for you to keep throwing stuff and I like you so much that I really want you to learn using a game that's fun instead of a worksheet that is really no fun at all and that you have to do all by yourself. I sure hope you pick the fun way tomorrow. But if not that's okay I've got a lot of worksheets and a lot of patience and I know you will make a good decision because I know how much you like to have fun." Something along those lines. If they are wanting attention try set a hard boundary, like above conversation, with little as possible attention given with them individually and provide a lot of praise when they are doing it right. If they just can't regulate then maybe a game with pieces is not for them. or they play for 5 minutes and then move on to something else. And the next day challenge them with 6 minutes. (give them the timer- You have better things to do than to sit and watch them for 6 minutes. Put them on an honor system if possible.)

What do you do with the cut up velcro pies? Kids just hold them in their hands or they stick them on the floor where you have already stuck the other side of the velcro?
@TeachersMakingTheBasicsFunАй бұрын
Yes. They go on the floor. It works only if you have carpet. The “dots” don’t need a second side They stick to carpet without a second side. They are pretty handy a very useful for many things in the classroom.
