Wow. I did not think there was a wrong way to read to kids, but I HAVE BEEN DOING IT WRONG! No wonder I could never get through a book without interruptions! Thank you for your service, ma'am! lol

Keep reading to them. I guess not reading to them would be the biggest mistake.

Thanks for watching. As you know so much of teaching is trial and error. Unfortunately all 10 mistakes are ones I’ve made. You’re so right about teachers needing to know, and practice, these skills. I’m sure with all your experience you could add to the list.

@@adricjones5605 that’s funny. I have a retired teacher friend that says the same thing. 🙂.

My best (and favourite) strategy is giving opportunities for students to move during storytime! It's a great way to practice vocabulary and break up a story to increase engagement. It's a fun break from sitting and helps to transition them to the rest of the story. Great tips!

I love the movement strategy too. It’s probably a top pick for kids as well. Thanks for your input.

Thank you I enjoyed teaching Grade one and KIndergarten as a Supply teacher. I enjoy the Read out Loud parts of class. I appreciate you connecting with me. I need help to obtain a PRIMARY TEACHING ASSISTANT VACANCY OR A PRIMARY SUPPLY TEACHER VACANCY. I WAS TRYING TO MOVE TO LONDON, ENGLAND AND STUDY MY TEACHING DEGREE PART-TIME THERE AND WORK AS A TEACHING ASSISTANT OR A PRIMARY SUPPLY TEACHER WHILE I AM STUDYING THE B.A. IN PRIMARY EDUCATION. I AM BEING MISTREATED IN MY PURSUIT AND I WAS MISTREATED AS A SUPPLY TEACHER. i ENJOY YOUR TEACHER VIDEOS.

The hardest thing for me to do is the character voices. I can do two, but my ADHD brain cannot handle more than that.

I can relate. When I would get it all mixed up the kids would laugh. I would just shrug. 🤷🏻♀️. Also you have to know the book pretty good or read ahead to make sure you are using the right voice for the sentence. Just have to do your best. 💕. Thanks for sharing.
