I’m sorry Steve you felt that way. This carving was definitely not an easy project. A lot of fine detail . I hope you’ll try one of my others like the hillbilly. Thanks for the comment.

Great video but the video was hard to watch, while your explaining details you kept going out of camera range, also brightness needs turned down. And just a little more info on wood size you use. Not trying to knock vid, I did learn a lot, enjoyed watching and learning. 👍 thumbs up from me.

I think it would help if you paint a square or circle on your carving table and if your hands and carving get out of that area…we can’t see what you’re doing.

I just found your Leprechaun and found your carving very nice. I have done others in the past and for this year,I think your's will be my choice. Your style of “stop cuts” are interesting and worth replicating l think I will try this one as well as this one with a bend in his arm to a pocket. I do hope you will continue and I. Have subscribed to see your continued carvings. Thank you for a fun video!

I really enjoy your style and have learned a lot about caricature carving, mostly the way you show the sheer geometry of it. If that makes sense. One thing though that bothers me-I would not shape those brushes with my mouth. Some of the paints can be made from some pretty nasty stuff, especially the cadmium paints. I've been painting with acrylic paints almost 30 years. A good cleaning and shape them with your fingers. If they get out of shape, soap and water, a dab of fabric softener and then shape them. Also, they are easier to clean if you will dip them in water before you load them with paint. Dry them a little with a paper towel if you don't need the additional water.

I can appreciate the way you showed the ‘almost stop cut’ because as a new carver, I tend to take too big of a bite for my stop cuts and it breaks off, or I press too hard and the cuts are not even. I guess ‘rocking’ my knife is the best option. I keep thinking I have to take the “complete cut” in one cut. Thank you. 👍🏻
