I've always found that having a finished pic of what I'm supposed to be creating helps enormously in the process, being able to jump back and forth in my visualization. Would be very easy to add that at the beginning of the video. Thanks.

Excellent video! At 64 years old I think I have a new hobby! I just watched the video to get an idea of what needs to be done now to get my knife and block of wood out and give it a go!

Nice tutorial, I really like your simple methodical approach and teaching style. Size perspective is always tough on video, so talking through the size of wood you started with would be helpful in future videos. Great job.

I think it would help if you paint a square or circle on your carving table and if your hands and carving get out of that area…we can’t see what you’re doing.

New subscriber 😀 Really enjoyed the technique of your presentation. Nice and slow, with great explanation! I just started carving almost 2 months ago, and have watched so many tutorials by some wonderful carvers. But, for me, they all go to fast. Thank you! You’re doing great for being new to KZbin, and sure do hope that you will continue to put out content!

Great video but the video was hard to watch, while your explaining details you kept going out of camera range, also brightness needs turned down. And just a little more info on wood size you use. Not trying to knock vid, I did learn a lot, enjoyed watching and learning. 👍 thumbs up from me.

Nice teaching technique. Fairly new carver, so it always helps to know why you’re doing the cuts. My main problem so far is thinking ahead and thinking in 3D. You could keep the carving in frame a little more. Kept drifting out of sight toward the bottom. Looking forward to more instruction.
