Are billet engines only used in drag racing? I’ve heard some use 4 cylinder billet engines in time attack but that’s about it, if anyone know more please let me know.

They're used in a lot of motorsports. Sprint cars (alcohol especially) used them for years. They're used in lots of endurance race series as well.

They are. This machining technique is really only used for high strength race engines and the like. Mass production engines are indeed made from castings

This part is no where close to being complex to machined, but programmer using mostly 5axis with a small ball endmill doing contour surfacing waste alot of time.

Nice Machine but a big waste of time, (waste of time watching too), It would never run and even if it did the cylinder walls would melt after a few minutes. Obviously just for show, but nonetheless a pretty cool show.....Nothing beats a big honkin' Chevy cast iron sbc though.....

Nice video for a nonfunctional bit of eye candy. It would have been great to see if they were able to overcome the cooling and lubrication issues and make it work. Now that would have been extra impressive I sure hope they do, I would like to see it run.
