to be fair, the run is very scuffed and we now know that descending slash and rising spiral slash are going to be meta (500 something total motion value) doing descending thrust spam for this run was fun tho but runs coming out probably won't look anything like this

sunbreak aerial glaive is always a cope sesh when i play it. even tetra is kinda slow too. idek if it's worth putting in the time investment since wilds is about a month away. believe it or not, most of the motion values are actually the same in sunbreak compared to 4u glaive. the weapon just hasn't really gotten alot of meaningful new moves that do damage compared to some of the other weapon and it always seems to be much harder to play after world .compared to most other weapons too. and then ironically wilds gives us some of the best moves it will probably ever have but the weapons controls are shit. ig homies can't catch a break

@@Pragles i mained glaive for the majority of sunbreak and honestly i loved aerial glaive and it isn't even that bad in practice, it's complex enough to be fun to play around with, it's just that it's so much setup and upkeep just to be in high risk of totally missing and wasting those setups away, but that would also be okay only if it does better than okay damage numbers. ultimately, it's fun but the risks heavily outweigh the rewards. still my favorite weapon in the game, though, just for having completely different playstyles in one package but i still think it's also the worst weapon defensively (aerial hitboxes, ARS and Recall Kinsect are pure cope lol). i haven't played with glaive much from the last wilds beta (bc hammer and dual blades) but i actually liked the charged mechanic and i'll probably still spam descending thrusts (or whatever it's called now) even though it's looking like rising spirial slash is going to be the optimal way to play the weapon now but we'll see and i'll look forward to hopefully more glaive gameplays from you once wilds releases haha

@Pragles i got nothing but hate on my gold rath run 🤣 it's harder than most of the viewers think !

there are no crit eye or wex decos. it just comes from the teo pieces. you can put whatever comfort skills you want on it. as long you have atleast powder mantle 3 and the wire bug ,speedup skills, whatever else you want is game. all the augs were reset and taken off, but for some reason it still keeps the qurio symbol on the armor piece

the entire set and individual armor piece setups with decos are at the end of the video. and yeah it's still very good outside of speeruns. it's much easier to use than diving wyvern and you don't have to think too hard about set building since most of the damaged is fixed.

@Pragles I was using an unfinished version of the build, and my powder explosion did 1200 damage to an afflicted rajang?! Maybe I saw it wrong? But a lot of the time, my powders kept going away on their own. I think maybe teammates were hitting them? This build is so much fun. Thank you so much

@@VinheimScholar yeah it's def not for multiplayer. you yourself can also explode your powders. the amount of powder that your kinsect sucks up determines the damage. i think like up to 7 or 8 is the max cap for the explosion. make sure youre using supercharge rampage deco as well. thats the thing that boost the damage way up for this playstyle as well

it's not TAS, ta wiki is Time Attack Wiki. it's a speedrunning category different from freestyle which cuts out alot of stuff like flashbombs, dogs and cats, most endemic life, qurio augs, traps, etc. it's pretty much just your weapon and the monster. it's typically just to show off your monster and weapon knowledge. i like it cause it's more challenging and interesting than freestyle imo.

i mean all glaive playstyles can have their moments in ta wiki, it just depends on the monster. in freestyle tho, explosion bug isn't the most used cause augs are allowed which makes tetra and diving wyvern much better due to the higher power level. explosion bug for the most part is fixed damage which is why it's good for alot of ta matchups

in the ta wiki category, if you're able to spam it frequently and efficiently grab your extracts, then yes it can beat out tetra and diving wyvern

it was a little annoying to get use to at first. i thought most of his moves he can just do at random, but i found alot of his patterns enjoyable once i found them out. chasing him down during his hops as well is pretty fun.

it's not a dumb question. i really didn't have the room to put much of anything else on the set. gunlance in ta wiki is unfortunately very costly with skills. i don't think it would that necessary, the slower wirebug charge didn't effect the performance too much. plus i get back half a wirebug everytime i do a redirection so that was also helping

gunlance isn't too bad. as long as you're comfy with redirection timing and reverse blase dash inputs, it's a pretty chill weapon. and glaive and gunlance for mains

it's actually pretty good against alot of monsters in the ta wiki category atleast.

@Pragles What usually messes me up using it in casual play is that the monster will (more often than not) pop the clouds before i do.

there's more on the japanese side, but ye, for north american players, im pretty one of the only ones who's still making runs lol

i think they just chose that design cause it makes sense. it makes sense for the bug weapon plushy skin to be designed after the only bug in the game. the other end of the glaive being a little group of raknas is also a cute touch
